Given the hiatus and struggles after his championship run, a win would usher in a new era and a new Conor. He already seems like a different person in media appearances. Who da fook is that guy?

    Sober Conor
    New Leaf Conor
    Hoomble Conor
    ???

To be added to the likes of Sea Level Cain, Chuck With That Look In His Eye, etc.

He’ll go completely off the rails again if he loses. Doubt he’ll ever recover mentally from losing this fight.

He'd be another guy who beat Cowboy. Not exactly rare territory.

No. To be the GOAT of any division, you need title defenses. Conor has zero at any weight class, he's not in GOAT discussion for anything for a reason.

His monetary success has been based on an over the top persona. Seems likely he would stay with that to hype a Khabib fight.

he could play a “humbled warrior seeking redemption” angle but that seems risky.

    if he loses, it’s rough.

His only chance to win is paid off judges and ref. I expect that the ref has been instructed to stop the fight if Conor lands anything meaningful regardless of whether or not it hurts Cerrone or even lands clean.

"seeming like a different person" dosen't really mean a whole lot with a guy like Conor. He's been an act since day 1, so can't really be confident that this isn't just more character work on his behalf since it's been his M.O. since the beginning. If he can prove with time he's actually a changed man then great. But he's gotta keep his nose clean for a while before a lot of us will actually accept this it's legit life style changes or just more character work. And he better hope he wins. Loss to Cowboy looks pretty bad at this stage for him.
