If Conor loses, could he still fight for the Welterweight belt at UFC 200?

Let's say it's a split decision loss. I think he could still fight Robbie and it will be just as huge; it would still be a champion vs champion fight. When Mendes subbed in at ufc 189, it was still huge even tho the Aldo fight was ruined. McGregor remains a champion no matter what and his next fight will still be huge.

I do not think he can alternate between welterweight and featherweight, but his body seems to be flexible, so who knows. I think he will try to be as big as possible until he loses. If he wins the lightweight and then beats lawler, he will vacate featherweight and just stay a bigger guy. If he loses at lightweight or welterweight, he will stop bulking up. It sucks tho, he should stay at lightweight even if he loses because his weight cut looks so unhealthy.

I was actually talking to my friend at work about this. No way does he ever go to WW if he loses to RDA. Best example would be if RDA just grinds him and beats him up for 5 rounds. You know almost anyone at the top of the heap at WW would do the same.
