Came here to say this. With the exception of Gustaffson, usually the quick title rematch is for people who had the belt but lost it. Seems like the UFC typically wants a former champ to win just one fight (in a dominant fashion) before rematching for the title. Lawler didn't lose the title, and Hendricks is out for a long time anyway, so he's going to have to fight again.
