Do you think he would be a Top 10 WW contender?

Considering how well Hardy and Matt Brown have done since losing to Lytle, it is crazy to think how Lytle not only beat them, he finished each of them.
I truly think Lytle could hold his own with some of the top players at 170 still...Kampmann, Ellenberger, Maia, Kim, etc.

Anyone else agree? Lytle hinted a few months ago, he still had thoughts about returning to the cage.

I have no idea but I know he would still be putting up entertaining fights.

    All that matters to me.

I believe so. Sad thing was for the most part he was overlooked by many. He was one of my top 3 ww's before he was cut the first time. Once I saw him on TUF again he became my number 1. He to this day is my second favorite fighter to ever fight in the Octagon. Im guessing most people will say top 15 but I believe top 10.

He didnt start getting much praise until his last few fights, before that people liked him but through him by the wayside when any other decent name faced him.

My initial reaction was 'no' but after thinking it over, while he wouldn't be the favourite in a fight with any of them, I really think there are a few Top 10 guys that he could beat. I think he'd definitely have a chance against Kampmann, Ellenberger, and even Hendricks. I'd love to see him against Mike Pyle or Erick Silva.

Put him in stylistically good matches and he would do awesome. Wrestlers would just decision him imo.

I still want to see Condit vs. Lytle

Top 10 at WW is pretty crowded, but if anyone could make it amongst those monsters it would be Lytle. That being said, Robbie Lawler vs Lytle, I would buy that shit up like the main event.

Actually thinking about the current top WWs, I don't think so.

But it doesn't matter because he was one of those entertaining fighters who we knew never was going to hold a belt but we still loved anyways.
Dude is a warrior and I would be happy to see him fight again if he wanted too.

Agreed. I don't think he's top ten present day, but I don't think any ww in the UFC would be more likely to finish him than go to decision.

Nah, dont think Matt Brown and Dan Hardy are top 10 WW. Too lazy to list the top 10 in WW currently, but they seem like guys who can put on exciting fights but would be fringe top 10 guys.

Not a bad thing to be fringe top 10 though. Lytle would be anywhere between #12-15 IMO....if that

You can! It's UFC 45 Revolution I believe.

And I'd like to see Lytle stay retired. Between his 4 kids, being a firefighter, chasing a politics dream, and being inactive all this time he wouldn't be shaking up the division. He has nothing left to prove in the MMA world and he retired in style.

I don't see why not. A guy like Kampmann or Story level I could see him beating.
