Who deserves the shot more then him? Jacare or Rockhold?
I mean, you can argue they do, but beating the number one guy should make you the number one guy.
We know he's the biggest draw they can use against Weidman, and with a win over Vitor it would actually a believable fight to sell.

If, and only if they decide to not give Chael the shot if he loses, I want him vs Anderson 3 as his next fight after that. If he can't get a title, at least give him a chance at revenge against Anderson.

Fill me in, are people apposed to him getting the shot if he wins? Or should Dana stick to his word?

I think if Vitor loses there is no legit no. 1 contender. Chael has to wait so Jacare is the only one right now that can challenge the champ. Let rockhold rematch a losing vitor. MW is such a shallow div right now.

Chael is fine. He's a big name and it's not like he DOESNT have any wins at 185. This isn't like when he walked in to 205 and got a title shot against Jon Jones.

Jacare is coming off a big win over Okami--except Chael Sonnen beat Okami long ago so in a sense, if Jacare deserves it then so does Sonnen (especially if he tops it off with Vitor Belfort win which he will not!!!) :icon_twis

I agree, neither Jarace or Rockhold are ready/worthy for a title shot.

Anybody who beats Vitor on the other hand certainly is, let alone Chael, someone who was pretty much the undisputed #2 MW in the world for nearly 3 years.

    shallow?

Lyoto. Vitor. Shael if he drops back down. Tim Kennedy. Rockhold. Jacare. Winner of Munoz v Mousasi gets in back of the line, Cung Le if he can string some wins and stay away from B-movie making. Anderson Silva may be 0-2 but he's only lost to 1 human being in some 6 years. Winner of Carmont v Dolloway could be the darkhorse for the future.

MW is at a very high point; not sure what you're watching.

^ this. Chael acts goofy and he was gifted a LHW title shot but people forget he beat every dominant MW at the time(Marquardt, Bisping, Okami, Stann) to get to Anderson Silva.

If he beats the number one contender, which is Vitor.. He deserves the title shot.

Rockhold didn't beat Vitor.. Jacare didn't beat Vitor.

If Chael beats the number one guy, he deserves the shot.

What is with everyones obsession with Jacare on this board ?

Beats Carmont and is coming off a long layoff lol. Yes he's good, but he won't be ready at the end of the year.

If Chael does beat Vitor, who else is free at the end of the year ?

Firstly if Sonnen beats Vitor which is more likely now it's at 185 . Dana will give the next shot to Sonnen . As Weidman vs Sonnen would be a huge seller prob 750k to 900k buy range . So it would be good for the ufc "financially" .

I agree. Don't forget he lost to Rockhold, who is still relevant so it does affect Jacare's standing imo. He's definitely a great addition but he's just 3-0, there's plenty of time to build him up.

    Shallow? Really?

Machida, Belfort, Souza and possibly Chael are going for the title right now.

Then there's a big bunch of guys who need that final push to get to the upper echelon, like Rockhold, Kennedy, Bisping, Mousasi, Leites and Romero.

Francis Carmont will bounce back as well, and then you have Silva possibly making a comeback after his injury. AND there's a ton of up and comers who still need time to develop their game.

    MW is looking just fine.

No one won the fight between Carmont and Jacare.

That fight was absolutely pathetic. One of the worst I have ever seen.

If Testosonnen beats ViTRTor, he should get one more shot at the title.
