If Alex Pereira beats Jiri, he would have won 2 UFC belts in just 11 total MMA fights

Will Poatan be a dual UFC champion?

That would be pretty cool and impressive. But then again, he did get fast tracked to the title shots and has like 40 pro kickboxing matches too

Alex bless

Are the winner of this fight a belt? Why does Jamahal Hill still show as the LHW champion on the UFC's own website? I know that every LHW fight in the last year or two has been for the LHW title.
Hill vs Glover UFC 283
Jan vs Ankelaev UFC 282
Jiri vs Glover UFC 285
Glover vs Jan UFC 267

Seriously the UFC LHW title has no value anymore.

Yeah i think its confirmed its for the belt. Site is probably not updated, pretty sure Jamahal Hill vacated due to an injury or something

Can you name anyone else that was given 2 title shots in 2 division in that few fights in MMA history?

I can't recall anyone getting the opportunity to do it. I am sure it would have been accomplished by some, if they were given the chance.

Nope. Brock Lesnar came to mind but he was only at the HW title after a few fights

Its true though. Lots of double champs would never be champ if they had to climb the ladders. I know Conor for sure would never have been champ at LW if he had to go through the LW division

Not trying to be that guy but it isn't impressive at all given all of the help he has received from the promotion and tailored competition. He was escalated to the MW title, and under extraordinary circumstances was awarded a contenders fight at LHW coming off a brutal KO this year. He took the opportunity but those that know will just write it off as being "right place, right time, right business".

I am skeptical any of them would be except for maybe Randy.

BJ was a legit double champ. Beat Hughes for the WW title and then won the LW belt when they finally brought back the LW division.
The conversation pertained to winning the title if they had to earn it by going up the ranks of the division. BJ matched up great with Hughes. I am not 100% sure he would have beat all the WWs to actually rise the ranks to earn the shot.

They're all legitimately double champs (i'd maybe asterisk Cejudo and Nunes) but none of them went through the division to earn that 2nd titleshot.

Right! Why did BJ get a WW shot in his debut fight at WW? I don't remember

Jones has incredible striking defense and also takes down Poatan 10/10, so Jones wins by whatever kind of violence he wants to inflict on the ground.
Agreed. I believe the fight would be similar to Jones-Gane. I don't see how Pereira can stop Jones' take down, considering Jones took down Olympic wrestlers like DC.
Would not even be competitive

Couldn't take down Reyes ... or Santos ... and Pereira would beat both in kickboxing, especially in a 5-rounder.
