Gilberts the toughest, most durable and dangerous fighter Conor has ever fought.

Styles make fights and just like Edgar and khabib are piss poor matchups, gilbert is just as bad as Khabib for Conor.

Conor has fought at WW twice so its fair to compare how Condit and everyone else shits on him.

Disagree the problem with both Diaz bros is that they fight without ANY strategy outside if what they are used to it.
They are good boxers with great BJJ and high cardio.

ANY one who want to fight then just need to get that figured out and he will have a legit chance to beat then.

They didn't get credit because they beat him the way they were supposed to beat him. Conor is the FIRST guy to actually stand with Nate the entire fight. No one has really ever wanted to stand with Nate. Henderson, RDA, Guida, Rory, Stun Gun, Maynard...all these guys went to heavy wrestling pressure. Only time guys stood with him was to leg kick him and set up the takedowns. Credit to Thomson for finishing him on the feet, but even then Thomson was getting 1-2'ed.

Nate is the best boxer we've seen in the LW division, and Conor is one of the best period. It made sense that this fight was going to be the one to give Conor trouble. Funny part is Conor's strongest strength in opponents are Nates weakest. Alvarez would beat Nate, RDA beat Nate, all these wrestler/boxer hybrids would beat Nate...but most would get beaten by Conor. That's just the way styles are sometimes.

He has a lot of scar tissue. Conor left the octagon on fucking crutches FFS. Go watch the Thompson, Bendo, Rory, and RDA fights. They all beat Nate like a red headed step child. McG barely scraped by in the second fight.

Just to jump in, styles make fights is very appropriate for this conversation.
Because 1. Alvarez got outstruck by melendez and won that fight against the cage and grappling, and that was a controversal win.
2. Melendez defensive boxing is much better than alvarez, melendez recognizes strengths on the feet and works around them.
The barboza fight for example even though he lost his fight iq showed by avoiding allot of barbozas shots and really just getting out pointed by the much faster barboza.

Melendez chin is much better than alvarez as well, his tendency to brawl could get him in trouble however hes very much like nate diaz in terms of toughness and has better defense with good jabs and tds.
Melendez in his prime is a much tougher fight for mcgregor than alvarez is, because alvarez is so hittable
