Crime Idaho Falls school shooting; none dead

First find out how she got the gun and if the parents they should be charged unless it was locked up and she still got it.

Let's see the call for a "assault weapons " ban by the anti 2 would have stop this , right.

The girl need to be held in a mental institution until she is 21 and then reevaluate.

Man, that's depressing.

The parents should have the book thrown at them, for either not securing their firearm(s) or not paying enough attention to their daughter that they couldn't notice her emotional need or any changes in her pointing to a crisis. Probably both.

I suppose I didn't have access to a pistol, but I had some rifles as a kid. I guess that seemed normal to me.

I think I was like 10 years old when I got my first .22 rifle. My parents had to teach me firearm safety first, I had to ask permission to use the rifle and they would accompany me if I was going to go target practice. I didn't start being able to shoot on my own without permission until I was probably 14.

11 years old? Messed up that she would have a gun, and even worse that she would shoot up a school.

Glad that no one died in this one.

Badass teacher here deserves praise

"During the shooting a teacher disarmed the student, and detained her until law enforcement took her into custody," added Anderson at a press conference.

100% !!

When you're that young getting hold o a gun then you need to be charging the parents. Absolutely garbage parenting.

Unless she got the gun from her parents, I'm not sure how it's their fault. Did your parents know everything you did or possessed as a kid? I don't know about you, but we were awfully good at hiding porno tapes from our parents when I was a kid. Most parents don't toss their kids' bedrooms like a prison cell on a weekly basis.

It's a lot more then being able to get a gun.

I'm going to bet in this case most of the staff and people that know her are not surprised she did this.

I had my first shotgun at 12 and by 13 I was hunting small game on my own. I lived where I could walk to hunting areas.
