I won a Galaxy Tab E Lite --- what do I do with it?

Such a thing is possible? My remote battery cover broke off so I've been walking up to the tv to turn it on and change volume.

I don't know how but yes, some kind of app

My wife does it all the time and turns off other people's TVs just to mess with them

So I won this and have been rocking a Samsung phone from 2010 that slides and I just talk and text right?

I'm not up on new newfangled phones, tablets, mini computers etc etc

I'm old school and prefer desktops, I had a tower that died so now I share my wife's laptop which is hooked to the TV with a wireless keyboard and I internet on the couch, watch shows etc

I can't plug this galaxy android into my monitor and etc upstairs to operate as a desktop...

I guess I can take it with me places if I wanted to use wifi

hmmmm

Anyone got any ideas what I should do with this?

Depending on how much time and money you want to invest, you can actually convert that tablet into desktop.

Step 1: Determine if your monitor has an hdmi input
Step 2: If it does, buy this "Micro USB to HDMI Cable, Updated Version, Rankie 6 feet MHL Micro USB to HDMI 1080P HDTV Adapter Cable" (Search Amazon, Sherdog doesn't like direct links)
Step 3: Buy bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo

Attach tablet to monitor, and sync blue tooth keyboard and mouse to tablet.

Out of pocket cost is $50, and you get a low powered PC that doubles as a tablet.

However, if you don't have and hdmi port on your monitor, your shit out of luck.

With that being said, a functional desktop is DIRT cheap these days. You can pick up an off lease first generation i7 dekstop for $125. If your interested, post up your city, and I can tell you where the best places are.

every guy should own a porn tablet. i suggest you get one of these.

My problem is I keep buying a cheap refurbished tower at a local store called Monroes and they just go in the trash after a couple years or so

Well, your not exactly in a computer hot spot, so I would recommend the following:

If your not averse to refurbished, this site is great for both off lease laptops and desktops:
https://ca.refurb.io/collections/desktops
https://ca.refurb.io/collections/laptops

Depending on your budget (and given your needs), you can pick up a cheap desktop/laptop, and put in an SSD: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167391 (This is a refurb, but Intel makes the best SSDs in terms of reliability. I have several)

Alternatively, if you want to go new, but don't want to spend alot, look into this (Only $169):
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883722001

It's a fully functional PC that fits in your pocket (even comes with a 4 hour battery and docking station). It's not as powerful as a full featured i5/i7 processor, BUT it is more than enough for your needs. I have one that I keep in my travel suitcase as a backup computer for when I'm on the road). It also comes with a great warranty, and has no moving parts (so perfectly silent).

The one drawback is that your monitor will either need to have an hdmi port, or you will have to get an hdmi --> DVI or hdmi --> VGA converter (both of which are about $10).

Let me know if you have any questions.
