Just re-watched Couture vs Tony and man. Ankle pick and domination. Tony verbally tapped to an arm triangle setup but got dominated. At least we got Silva winning a boxing match... That being said Tony was a dummy and desperate fighting one of the best grapplers of the time. Will we ever see that again? Hopefully the old farts will die off and people realize MMA is more exciting. I watched an MMA fight with an older college and they couldn't believe you could kick their head and asked dumb questions on "wow you can kick the leg? Woah you can knee then?" I guess it's the same shit with kick boxing now.

So...why do you wish it were more popular? Are you looking to be able to talk to more people about it, or wish it were popular enough to be more accessible (like not largely gated behind PPVs), or what?

It sounds like you're able to enjoy the sport just fine, which is kind of the point. That's it's not more popular doesn't lessen the enjoyment, I hope.

One of the shit fights tomorrow that detracts viewers was canceled. That's a step in the right direction.

I don't. I couldn't care less. I have a six to eight friends I get PPVs with and we're good.

If becoming more popular means I have to listen to Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman, I’ll take less popular.

It’ll never be popular because it’s a niche sport with some of the most diehard gatekeepers for fans lol.

    See this thread.

Did you see what Conor said about Poiriers wife on Twitter!?!?

Honestly sherdog isn’t that different from real life

At least with the Conor cards I can get a bigger group together than my usual 2-4

I honestly don't know anyone who watches MMA anymore aside from Conor fights. We used to have a big group from work that would get together for PPVs but they're all gone. The last one we watched together was Rampage vs Rashaad.

Nop, sherdoggers will be that and also be like

"Oh you watch mma too? Isn't GSP GOAT? Now what do you think about this new kid khamzat blablabla....bjj...TDD....leg kicks....Khabibless ....Jon PEDs...."

But sherdoggers are rare. I found one tho at my last place of work. We hit it off straight away...then we fall off 2 months later coz of politics

I wish UFC went full on pro wrestling with blatantly fixed matches and actors. Just to witness the salt from the hard cores.

Yeah I have my brother who knows about MMA. Then friends we watch fights with who have no clue who's going to win and guess based off who they think looks better.

It sounds like you enjoy it, which is good. Wanting boxing to fail in the process of mma becoming more mainstream though, isn't. Boxing is an olympic sport. I don't think mma becoming an olympic sport would be good for business, for either side.

I wish Dana wasn't a sellout. It was may more exciting and fun when he had a vested personal interest in its success.

It literally feels more bland and stale than ever.
