I was under the impression Condit won ? Has nothing changed in the scoring system?

As long as I have been watching UFC you would think that I would learn to guesstimate the value of takedowns with 0 innefectual offense implimented afterwards. I watched this fight and said shit those takedowns to avoid standup with Condit would be duly noted by the judges. That is what they were as Johnny was clearly not liking the results of exchanging with Condit who tanked his best shots and was returning crisp rights that hurt Johnny like hell.

You could actually see Johnnys morale degrade little by little as Condits superior conditioning and standup was overwhelming him during the second round. As Chael did to Silva , ol johnny took the playbook and just dropped him as many times as possible knowing the judges would give him the win. Despite him being clearly gassed and really getting hurt by Condits assaults. Yes Condit was struck early on but as a champion caliber fighter he shrugged them off and returning really hard punches that Hendricks wanted nothing to do with. Imo Hendricks tryed to Wanderleigh him and saw that shit wasn't happening with Condit.

I felt bad for Condit as I genuinely thought he wont the fight. Anyways, water under the bridge...but judging and scoring in the UFC still sucks horrendously.

You act like takedowns are easy to land.

Maybe Condit needs to get better at TDD.

Stop crying.

Very accurate description of the third round, which condit won.

However rounds 1 and 2 did not go like that...

Are you not aware mma fights have 3 rounds ???

God, not this shit again.

Hendricks was still landing his left in round two, plus he got the takedowns.

If nothing had changed in the scoring, Hendricks would have been given the third as well.

MMA is geared towards the wrestling. That's just how it is.

Also Hendricks landed bigger strikes in round 1 and 2.

Condit landed bigger only in round 3.

totally agree! I had Condit winning the fight 29-28 and I'm sick of everyone of saying the multiple takedowns by Hendricks are what obviously secured him the victory. Yeah I know that's how the judges felt but why are takedowns scored so highly when they equate to zero offense of opponent damage!

This! A+ posting

Was very close and could have gone either way IMO, but personally I had Condit winning.

Only way Condit won is if you don't count takedowns as points, which wouldn't make any sense at all.

All orgs under the Unified Rules are, I hate it

I hate it too! If the UFC allowed knees to head of grounded opponent, it would eliminate much of the stalling, lay 'n' pray bullshit that wastes time of the clock!

well personally i think Condit won, but i think its karma getting back at him for the Diaz fight...

Ground control should be changed to effective ground control. How hard would it be for a commission to set up a seminar showing judges the difference between the two? Takedowns should hold no bearing unless something happens with it. Positioning should mean little unless strikes land or subs attempted.
