He was completely manhandled. You could see that there was absolutely no way he was going to be able to get up, unless Cormier made a really bad mistake. He was gassed and dominated, but he kept working off his back, getting out of mount, side control and having his back taken. By the 3rd round, I was thinking he just has to charge at Cormier and go wild with H-Bombs, and if he gets taken down, tap out immediately. He definitely kept trying until he just didn't have anything left. Sonnen pretty much gave up as soon as he couldn't get up from under Rashad.

I agree Hendo has shown heart for years. Man he was thrown around like a football at a Kennedy picnic. Still he never quit, its not in his dna. It was the worst possible match up for him. In my eyes, Dan is one tough, American made, mma fighter. It doesn't hurt that he seems to be a nice guy as well. Thanks to Hendo, for the many great fights over the years. War Hendo!
