I've been training Muay Thai for 8 months now but I don't do any grappling. I have an idea of course but I have no legit training. Should I just start BJJ before doing MMA?

Should you get some grappling experience for mma? Yeah, it generally helps.

Just keep it standing and ko them with a knee when they go for takedown

Bjj unnecessary. Unless your striking sucks

Just do muay thai. No need to mix it up. Muay thai is all u need

I have no idea what that sentence means. Unless you've been on the ground with an aggressive, high level black belt or grappler, you really have no idea. And even if you have been, you still don't really get it you just get that you don't get it.

Go to an MMA gym, man. They'll learn you the basics pretty quick.

Find a good MMA gym. That's your best option.

I would honestly even saya good blue belt would show anyone up who has no grappling experience where i train. That would be enough to make anyone think shiiiiit lol

As for TS, you could just get into wrestling if its available anywhere. Thats probably where id have liked to start rather than BJJ. But you better get into something and have a couple years before getting into the cage ( If thats your goal ).

Well I went to like 2-3 sessions before, and I subbed a lot guys but it was because I watched a lot of videos on youtube how to do an armbar, rnc etc..

I know some basics because I watch a lot of videos but even a white belt can sub me :icon_chee I don't have to roll with a black belt.

I want to start doing MMA straight up. A lot of people are telling me to start with BJJ before doing MMA.

    :(

Watching the video made me want to give my blue belt back. I am so not worth it.
He makes everything look so smooth and fluid.

I dont understand why the OP insists on starting to train in a bjj or mma gym. If watching videos on youtube has provided such amazing results, if i wer him i would save my money and invest in a more comfortable couch and a bigger TV.
I think that would speed up the process and make him tap black belts sooner.

What do you mean by "doing MMA"? Learning to grapple with strikes or signing up for a fight?
