Watching Jones vs OSP just made me want to see the rematch again. Gus attacks way more than OSP, and his wrestling is better. I think if Gus had been training hard, and showed up against the Jones that was in there tonight, Jones would have gotten decimated.

That fight has to happen again someday

I would watch but that means the UFC would have to gift another title shot to Gus. I want to see OSP vs Gus.

I'd like to see a rematch, but Gus hasn't won a fight since Mid-2014..

I'm guessing not until Gus starts winning again. He's now 0-3 against the top 3 guys in the division.
For sure. He has to do some work to get back into contention.

Gus has to win at least two before he gets another shot.

I mean, LHW has given some joke title shots over the years (Vitor, Chael, Lyoto, even Gus himself got one) but surely to fuck they won't do it again.

Gus wins as long as he doesn't let his "motivation" get in the way. Jones hasn't really shown any major improvement outside of his clinch in the last couple of years and Gus showed then that he just won't play that game and OSP showed tonight that it's not hard to escape from Jon's clinch hold at least in the early going. I also didn't think that Jones kicks(his main offense against Gus) tonight were as snappy and were a lot slower than I'm used to seeing. Maybe it's ring rust and he'll be back to form against Cormier or maybe it's his strength training and possibly new drug testing(?) that have maybe slowed him down in the long run. Either way it goes I think Gus is Jones' worst style match up and without the elbow in the fourth he would've won their first fight(I still think he won the first 3 rounds anyway).

Hate post disguised as objective analysis. Worthless post. Worthless poster.

Looking too much into Gus's record is silly, We all know he's one of the best.

And yes I think the Gus who fought cormier would beat Jones more decisive this time
Also Rumble.

BUT Im sure Mr Jones will improve until next time. Ring rust is real

HELL NO!

Gustafsson has won 1 fight since 2012.

LHW has gotten so thin its not even funny. Bones vs Cormier 2 at 200 is my guess, and give Rumble the winner later this yr. In the meantime, Gus vs Glover would be the best thing to do, and if he can get passed Glover I wouldn't mind a TS. Who else is top 5-10 they'd give it to?

Gus had a one off great performance against Jones. Now he is on the downhill losing every fight that matters.

Classic Gus fans...give him enough chances and he is bound to win right?

I want to see him beat Glover or Bader or Rumble then watch Jones smoke him and put this to rest. I'm not even a fan of Jones but this fight needs to happen so you whiners can go on suicide watch.

The UFC has been trying to make this fight, but Gus keeps losing. First to Rumble, then to DC. Gus needs some wins against top LHW before he will get another shot. They need to keep him away from athletic/explosive fighters.

yeah this fight had me thinking about Gus a lot. Jones isn't great against tall guys and Alex is very active. I hope they give him an easy path to the title, no rumble or DC, let him fight Bader or Glover for the shot.
