Conor gassed, was his fault, he fought stupid, throwing everything he got. Probably didnt develop his featherweight cardio enough to match his muscle gains (he was a 145 and was gettin up a division).
He fought 3 rounds before against Holloway, being active and agressive, landing as much as against Nate and did not get close to gas. So, we already know his cardio was good enough.
But we ALL need to agree, Conor was gassed long before Nate landing anything clearly (and I am a Diaz bro fans since the beginning).
Cardio is just like power, speed, accuracy. Defeat your opponent via better cardio is just as valid, meaningul and notorious, that defeating because you are more powerful, or faster or accurate. I am not trying to diminish Nate win on any way.
But its clear to me that, when Conor had the cardio against Nate, he dodge most of his punches, landed clearly, and clearly OUTSTRIKED Nate in the feet all the round. At the beginning he struggled to find the range, but then, he showed was the most skilled striker.
When Conor gassed get flat footed, no more head movement, no more dodge or parry punches, and THEN, and JUST THEN he was tagged clearly and demolished.
Defeat your opponent making him gas is as great as defeating by power, speed, accuracy or anything else.
Muhammad Ali did it against Foreman and is one of the most notable wins in history.
HOW CAN YOU SAY CARDIO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CONOR LOSS ? THATS NONSENSE.
Nate Diaz won against Conor because making him gas. Thats not shameful and to me is great, just like win because your power, speed or accuracy. Nothing to be ashamed.
But why here people still saying cardio has nothing to do with the win? that's moronic ! Conor was a completely different fighter gassed/not gassed. Was clear. What is the need to denied something so obvious and evident?
