No one in their right mind will tell someone else to take their shot at the title instead of them. DC is going to be 35 this year. He can't afford to sit around and wait. DC will take his chance with JBJ on bad knees. That's just how DC is. He's a competitor. If I was Gus, I will stay active and fight either Glover or Rashad, Rashad over Glover because Glover is still injured. I will respect Gus' decision to sit and wait though.
