The last 2 knees clearly did. People are typically referring to the first knee which landed on his thigh. Was there confusion about this?
 
I think his official line is 19 strikes landed, 20 thrown.

He only missed the first left.

The shoulder strikes are what did him in and set up everything else.
 
Conor pioneered the thigh strike. EVERYONE will be throwing them this year. Gyms are going to be teaching the thigh strike as the new "in" move.

It was the very first thigh strike 1 second into the fight actually. You can see as he comes up for the clinch that the eye has swollen and he tries to paw at it. Then Conor proceeds to break his nose 3 seconds later.

Just a terrible start for Cerrone.

May seem silly now, but the debates at the time centered around whether a knee to the chest is legal if the thigh grazes the chin.
