I think the inside leg kick is being overlooked in the GSP Diaz fight

In the Diaz Condit fight Condit threw outside leg kicks with his lead leg instead of throwing inside leg kicks with his back leg where he would've been able to generate a lot more power. I assume GSP is going to be throwing powerful inside leg kicks with his back leg and not doing what Condit did and I think he can do a lot of damage with them over the course of a 5 round fight.

I think GSP has underrated power in his kicks when he commits to them, I'm a big GSP fan and I used to not be very impressed with his leg kicks and thought they were mostly for points. But there have been a few kicks he's thrown in recent fights that looked impressively powerful, I was surprised. It would make sense that GSP would be able to throw powerful leg kicks with the explosive power he has in his legs and how good his hips are along with how technically proficient he is.

Cyborg was lighting Diaz up with inside leg kicks for the first two rounds before Diaz subbed him. Cyborg was able to land them at will, Diaz showed no ability to be able to avoid or check them, and they were nasty looking kicks.I think if that fight went into the 3rd or 4th round Diaz's leg would've been in big trouble.

I think there is a good possibility that if GSP chooses to keep this fight on the feet for a long time that he could do a lot of damage to Diaz's lead leg with inside leg kicks.

He is a kyokushin karate blackbelt. If you are familiar with that style of martial arts you would know that there can be no argument to whether or not GSP's kicks have power. The only question is how ridiculous said power is. I guarantee you anyone would feel them if thrown in any sort of quantity greater than 0.

GSP is going to beat Nick up standing before going to the ground. Everyone is saying GSP wins this fight because of his top game, and it will be a big factor but Georges is going to cause real problems with leg kicks and the jab before he involves the ground game

Actually, Diaz's best gameplan is to not show up again. GSP will either dominate him standing or on the ground.

hahaha, let me guess, he is going to one-punch KO Diaz with that Falcon style overhand right he was using against Shields?

    ROFL!! hahhaha

Diaz would make him tap to strikes again.

No, more likely he'll take Diaz down at will, while GNPing him for 5 rounds. I want to see a Fightmetric stat of how many times GSP will take down Diaz after he drops his hands to taunt him.

Even more likely then that, is Diaz running with his tail between his legs again. I'm thinking he can't no show press conferences and fail a drug test on purpose again, that's too obvious. I think he'll get caught coming into Canada with a bunch of weed, and will carefully up his shit talking the week before the fight, so he will still maintain his tough guy image, and his fanboys will think he actually wants to fight GSP (he doesn't, and he's showed it)

Bicpup269-"GSP would beat him standing. Derp."

    - "How would he do that?"

    Bicpup269- "By taking him down"

GSP is honestly probably going to handily win the stand-up. GSP is smart enough not to engage in the pocket with Diaz. He'll fight on the outside and bust Nick up with 1-2 combos and batter his legs with kicks.

GSP has some of the best kicks at 170. They are fast, powerful, and well set-up.

This just isn't a good fight for Nick. Sorry.

Henderson's leg kicks certainly caused problems for Nate Diaz, I could see it happening with GPS/Nick Diaz

GSP should take a page out of Saffiedine's book and kick that thigh until it buckles,I felt bad for Marquardt after his thigh was shreaded for that entire fight.

You should keep training that whole "reading" thing. I know it's tough, but stick it out and eventually reading comprehension, and basic understanding of ways humans communicate with each other will become clear. Then come back and read my message.

I said GSP would either dominate him on the ground or his feet.

    The defintion of "Or"

Nick Diaz fights with his lead leg turned in, making it very easy to check inside kicks and very difficult to check outside kicks.

Not saying GSP won't land inside leg kicks, just saying Diaz's stance asks you to throw the outside kick, not the inside one.

I agree, GSP's footwork and ability to control the distance is amazing. His footwork looked great in the fight against Condit. I think he's going to pick Diaz apart with straight punches and low kicks. The Condit fight really confirmed in my mind that Diaz has very little chance standing. Unless Diaz changes strategy a lot it will be another case of Diaz trying to box a kickboxer and the kickboxer takes advantage of his stance/lack of kicking defense.

This is true, but Diaz doesn't check the kicks regardless of which side they're coming from. This will allow GSP to land kicks at will with both legs.

But this didn't matter in his fight with Cyborg, he didn't even attempt to try and check them even though they were nasty kicks that were lifting his leg up in the air.
