“Overeem makes more than I do to fight. I just think a guy getting paid more than the champ is kind of unfair,” Miocic said. “I don’t think that’s right. I've worked my way to the top and getting paid less than Overeem seems wrong. I just want to be treated fairly."

This aged interview with Stipe llustrates my issue with him He is NOT willing to put in the work needed for Dana to promote him. He's arrogant and MMA is Stipe's hobby, not his career. He was bitching then, and he's bitching now but Overeem deserves every dollar because he shows up.

Man Stipes turned into a wimp.

Reem is over 20 years deep in the game, let him get paid

AND

More importantly: Reem just goes out and fights, he doesn’t sit back and make excuses

Overeem has a MUCH LONGER career than Stipe fighting the biggest names in the best organizations. Lets not forget that he arrived to the ufc being a star in japan and had leverage to negotiate a sweet deal. Stipe was only known by his family and buddies by the time he signed with the ufc. That’s why he got offered a crappy salary.

Overeem is one of the longest active fighters ever. Stipe needs to quit whining.

Welcome to planet Earth Stipe. Maybe learn to negotiate better?

Fair pay comes from your ability to sell fights.

That and he needs to, you know, actually defend his damn belt instead of holding up the division.

Any excuse to bash Stipe, right? Even if you have to go back over 2 years to do it, right? And of course the champ should get more. The fucking fight was in Cleveland. You really think those people were there for Overeem?

2017 Interview..

Who knows what Stipe makes now?

I did say it was an aged interview that I used to illustrate my point. To answer your question, Overeem still makes about $200k more per fight than Stipe.

I'm laughing in Overeem still making more per fight than Stipe at this point.

Sherdog seems to be turning on Stipe pretty quick.

Im still a fan. He needs to take a fight and stop posting things IMO.

I like the guy, but I dunno if he has enough support behind him right now to scare the UFC.

Reem is more exciting, has had a longer career... Stipe doesn't need to worry about Overeem's pay... maybe actually if he fought instead of making excuses he'd get that Overeem money.... just saying

Also, for the record, UFC should be paying all of their fighters more.

Stipe makes near 800k per fight now.

I doubt he makes more than the Champ when it is all counted up.. There is no justification for that.. it's not like Reem is headlining big PPV's..
