...go down in early rounds intentionally for strategic purposes. Think about how many times we've seen him go down in the first round, or within the first few and then come back and murder his opponent.

My theory is that he either wants to raise the opponents confidence level so they engage and are more likely to make a mistake, or perhaps attempting to lure them into punching themselves out early in hopes of ending the fight.
 
No way anyone would give up a 10-8 round to Hopkins.

Besides, Calzaghe was hurt pretty badly against Jones.
 
I just think Calzaghe needs to take a few rounds to feel the rhythm of a fight. It's not like Roy Jones or Bernard Hopkins have any lack of confidence going into a fight.
 
You aren't exactly Mister Current Affairs are you, Tommy? "Mad Fist" went mad, and "The Gun," shot himself.
