Average Wrestling, Striking and Submission game. Yet he has wins over huge names of the sport:

1. Wanderlei Silva
2. Vitor Belfort
3. Chuck Liddell
4. Ryan Bader
5. Chael Sonnen
6. Guy Mezger.

Champions and title contenders all.

Its easy to write cheap comments on Sherdog

It's easy to forget the dude was a gorilla strong endless cardio machine. <{Joewithit}>

He was a great wrestler for MMA at the time with great top control and ground n pound.

And lol @ putting his win over Chuck there.

Chuck was old. What's hard to understand about that?

Tito Ortiz wouldn't be anything today in modern MMA. He would be just another top 10.

By the time he beat Vítor he was solid even by today’s standard

Because even if you are poor at other attributes, wrestling is one of the best to have in MMA to hold opponents down.

Well if u consider he's been fighting since the early to mid 90s and wrestling at one point with heavy top game was the be all to end all until guys like chuck came around with takedown defense to be able to unload strikes on an opponent look at old Tito Ortiz fights the guy was amazing for the time and I hate Tito but u have to give credit where it's due, he was a little ahead of the time then injurys and father time caught up whether we wanna all admit that or not

Because he was better then you make him sound ? And his wins prove it .

After tito beat wand , wand went on his run so Tito beat prime wand and that was for the the vacated title so history could have been way different and Tito dropped Silva and taught that man a wrestling clinic that night .
Tito's wrestling was above average before his back and neck started to mess up on him

Tito Ortiz was infamously known for laying and praying. Rules favored wrestlers heavily. But with that being said, the guy was an excellent fighter at one point in time. He really did decline badly over the years. The 2002-2005(?) version of Ortiz was loose and fluid.

great wrestler, great cardio, with sub defense and serviceable striking. bad thread
