Is it worth watching?

The reason I ask you guys this is because I know I'll find more honesty here than on a movie site and even though it has great ratings, you can't always trust the critics.

Seriously, I never even heard of Guardians of the Galaxy until I saw the previews for it. As I kid, my brother and I loved reading comics all the time and were basically obsessed with superheros but somehow never came across Guardians of the Galaxy. Unless he did and I never knew about it.

So, would any of you guys recommend it or..?

I liked it. But most of the others that watched it at the theaters say they had a blast and was one of their best films of the year. So if you watch it at home and without the theater atmosphere and without the audience participation, your enjoyment of the movie might not be optimal.

It's good. Does a great job of finding a balance between taking itself seriously, and well, not taking itself seriously. For an action movie, it's pretty funny. I rewatched it the other day and I almost never watch a movie twice.

I loved it, watched it on a little TV in my friends den, would have been nice to have the theater experience but the heart of the movie and it's humor is what separates it. Definitely watch it, worst thing that could happen is you don't lIke it.

Really? So you don't have a movie collection?

I can't imagine that reality. I've probably seen Bloodsport a hundred times.

it was ok a solid 7/10 didn't love it but i enjoyed it main villain was weak

I saw it in IMAX it was a fun experience.

I didn't like it but I'm not into comic book movies either.

It's not a must see.

it's entertaining, but definitely geared towards a younger audience.

I think my movie collection (on disc) is...Spiderman 2, Amelie, and.....maybe one or two more. I have about 100 movies downloaded on my computer, but I think I'll start deleting them because I was super bored the other day, and I couldn't be bothered to watch any of them a second time. I did finally get around to watching True Grit and Black Swan, though.

10/10 from me. Loved it so much I went back to see it again, something I have only done twice in my adult life (the other one was Dredd fyi).

its definitely one of my favorite movie ever.

and i say this as a DC fans.

Thanks guys, I will likely end up watching it tomorrow. As long as it's better than the 2nd Avengers, it should be all good. The best part of the 2nd Avengers was Iron Man and Hulk fighting each other. Watching the trailer and seeing Iron Man in his Hulkbuster suit and such is seriously the main reason I wanted to watch it. That was the best part and the intro was pretty good, but the rest was kinda meh. The first was much better, but still not that special to me, it seems like something is missing from those, honestly.

Now the first Iron Man, that is a damn good movie. That's how it's done, I loved every second of that one. The first Iron Man, first Thor, Spider Man 2 (2004), Punisher and Deadpool are the best Marvel movies to me, I enjoyed those ones the most, unless I'm forgetting something.

It's good but a bit overrated imo. I would probably give it a 7/10, maybe even an 8. They did a pretty good job with the source material honestly.

I actually think it's one of the most overrated movies of the last few years. Admittedly, I am not at all into most comic book things but I enjoyed Chistopher Nolans Batman films and stuff.

I even love Chris Pratt, I just didn't like Guardians of the Galaxy at all.

Really? Pretty sure Starlord makes a joke about the inside of his spaceship being covered in jizz at one point.

Loved it. I've watched it three times, and the gf has watched it four times. Pretty much never watch a movie more than twice.

Hulkbuster vs Hulk was the only real highlight of Avengers 2 for me also. Well that and I thought the birth of The Vision was pretty cool too (though mainly cos I forgot he was gonna be in it). Other than that it was pretty meh and I agree though I enjoyed the first one it fell short of greatness. I think both were let down by weak endings and a lack of any real sense that the Avengers were ever in any great danger. Loki was a cool villain but nowhere near menacing enough and Ultron was about as menacing as mickey mouse.

GOTG on the other hand is an absolute blast all the way and definitely one of my favourite superhero movies by far along with the first Iron Man, X-Men First class and X-men DOFP. Spider-man 2 and Deadpool also up there too. Sadly I think there has yet to be a good Punisher movie but I'm more than satisfied with his portrayal in the Daredevil netflix series so far. I think finally they have done the character some justice.

me either. shit looks stupid. a talkin racoon and a tree played by vin diesel that just says his name. no thanks.
