Remember couple of years ago when people were obsessed with Heavyweights esepcially the JDS-Cain era but mostly failed to realize that they were dominating the HW-Division because of speed advantage over the larger and slower competition in their division.
My concept was easy to understand how I reached that conclusion.
1. If a LHW is strong enough to defend any sort of Takedown attempt while being 30-50 Ibs lighter then his heavyweight opponent then he will win most likely 75%. Because strength would be the only advantage HW would have had but LHW are strong also and some freakish strong to defend a TK easily from a heavyweight.
2. The LHW speed would be to much for a large HW opponent and perhaps a mismatch.
Example Stipe Miocic is a light-heavyweight type HW and the same goes to JDS and Cain. Fighters like Gustafsson, Prime-Rashad, Rumble etc etc would make quick work of large heavyweights like Frank mir, Bigfoot, Big Country, and Mark hunt but Cain, JDS and Miocic would proof to be tough fights because they are like LWHs themselves.
