Remember couple of years ago when people were obsessed with Heavyweights esepcially the JDS-Cain era but mostly failed to realize that they were dominating the HW-Division because of speed advantage over the larger and slower competition in their division.

My concept was easy to understand how I reached that conclusion.

1. If a LHW is strong enough to defend any sort of Takedown attempt while being 30-50 Ibs lighter then his heavyweight opponent then he will win most likely 75%. Because strength would be the only advantage HW would have had but LHW are strong also and some freakish strong to defend a TK easily from a heavyweight.

2. The LHW speed would be to much for a large HW opponent and perhaps a mismatch.

Example Stipe Miocic is a light-heavyweight type HW and the same goes to JDS and Cain. Fighters like Gustafsson, Prime-Rashad, Rumble etc etc would make quick work of large heavyweights like Frank mir, Bigfoot, Big Country, and Mark hunt but Cain, JDS and Miocic would proof to be tough fights because they are like LWHs themselves.

No.

People here doesn´t understand weight classes.

Didnt daniel show up heavier than stipe? Lol

I thought everyone knew that LHW was always much deeper than HW.

speed kills at any weight class, hw its just more apparent cuz they're giants in the cage. 1 punch can end it at 265 and if you have speed to match it you can beat ur opponent to the punch.

So you came to the same conclusion a few years ago that the MMA community did at the turn of the century, LHW has always been the premier division in MMA for a reason.

DC is a heavyweight who only cut down because his friend held the belt. He's struggled significantly his last few fights at LHW.

Frank Mir would kill Prime Rashad stone dead, Rashad is a middleweight

Gustaffson and Rumble could compete although I doubt Gustaffson because I dont think he has the power to put the big lads down, I think Mark Hunt, Bigfoot (before he was denied his juice) and Mir would beat hin

I get where you're going with this. Stipe was always the faster fighter at HW. He wasn't faster vs DC.

That said, if Stipe had fought DC the way he fought Ngannou, he'd probably have beaten him. He let DC inside , he brawled with him, and he got tagged. DC was lunging trying to get inside, it was pretty obvious what his game plan was. Stipe really didn't do any avoidance.

When did anyone ever think otherwise? LHW has been consistently competitive since the inception of the UFC.

Eh, i'd say maybe the top 2-3 are. But just like HW the skill outside of the elite drops heavily, and those guys would absolutely lose to the size of equal ranked hw's more often than not.

Why the hell are you wasting your time on Sherdog? The UFC needs a guy like you.

This, AND, you started a thread about how you knew JJ was something special when you saw him fight Bonnar.

WOW! Maybe your mom will pat you on the back and tell you how special you are. But, groveling for attention and accolades on this board, or in life is seen as immature and insecure. Just a heads up
