I'm a tate fan from her strikeforce days. Anyone here think she can pull it off? Ronda's damn good, but she's not invincible.

I think mieshas coaches have to be honest with her and tell her that she won't be able to stop the throws from the clinch.

Rather than waste time training judo to stop the throws, they should have her working on power strikes inside the pocket and grappling escapes/scrambles/re-guarding from bad positions, especially from kesa gatame. She can't let ronda stay in dominant positions.

I can't remember how carmouche got Ronda's back but I'm guessing it was from a scramble, which is one of the rare times ronda has shown a weakness.

Miesha should bring in a high level adcc jiu jitsu girl to improve her grappling. Ronda's legit on the ground, but I don't think she'd win adcc.

... Except the 7times will only happen AFTER Rousey / Tate III

    ... Which will never happen

Miesha looked good with the over hand she was landing on the girl she fought last (I forget who) so it's not impossible she could rock Ronda and possibly drop her.

Safe bet is Ronda owns her again. It will be interesting if Ronda decides to strike/brawl with her like she did Bethe. I doubt it.

I think a quick guillotine from closed guard or an rnc after taking Ronda's back are the likeliest options for tate to win.

She could also drop ronda standing and then jump on a sub or try and GNP her out cold with punches and elbows.

Really hoping for Tate to pull it off. A much better ambassador for WMMA.

It was very frustrating to see her clinch with Ronda in their second fight. She was landing some good punch then run into Ronda clinch.

It is certainly possible even if it is 15 times out of 100. She can keep the distance and tag Ronda enough she can pounce for a stoppage.

She'll have to do her strategy perfectly and come in in great shape.

Problem is even if Miesha pulls it off theyll just make Miesha vs Ronda IV afterwards. And then Miesha is gonna lose again. Its a sad world we live in ;)

She has to stay away from that hip trow. Ronda is very good in using that hiptrow to get in a good position on the ground.

Just avoid the clinch and try lighting her up from the outside. Try using elbows when Ronda is coming in.

But still think Ronda gets it.

Miesha's best chance is Ronda getting overconfident in her newfound striking/brawling abilities and getting (too) reckless trying to Bethe Miesha. Then landing a big punch that either leads to a finish or weakens Ronda to the point that Miesha is able to outwork her throughout the fight.

Tate lost the second fight by repeated shooting those takedowns that would get stuffed and thrown.

I think this is what lost miesha the fight the second time. She got out struck standing and then started rushing into the clinch for takedowns and ronda kept throwing her into bad positions.

Miesha has to be not afraid of the takedown and plant her feet and throw power punches in the pocket. If ronda throws her she has to get out of bad positions immediately. Re-guard and tie her up. Force a stand up or scramble back to get feet.
