The Mcgregor - Diaz matchup is the biggest shit talkin matchup in history. It's the one matchup I actually care more about the lead up than the actual fight. When I heard it was on I just kept giggling. With only six days left, I hope things really heat up. I had visions of a 24/7 all shit talkin live stream but so far there hasn't been that much. I pray the MMA gods throw some gas on this fire.

Also, if someone could edit the audio from that "press conference" over the the Republican debate (or vice versa) that would be classic.

Someone throw the above into the "how to tell if a fan is casual" thread.

Honestly they can't make Nate do a bunch of media shit all week, he has to prepare for the fight

I think Conor actually likes the Diaz boys.....

Not that you are a casual clinger but usually they have to have something to get them excited about watching the fight because the fight itself usually isn't enough. They would be the drunk people in the crowd booing when somebody is not getting their head knocked off or leg broke in half because they actually get bored with what they are watching they just want to fit in so they buy a T-shirt and put a Tapout sticker on their back window of their car and consider themselves the shit

CONOR SEEMS TO ACTUALLY RESPECT THE HELL OUT THE DIAZ BROS

AND I THINK HE'S HAPPY TO BE GIVING NATE THIS PAYDAY

AND NATE CANNOT HAVE BAD FEELINGS TOWARDS CONOR, AS HE WOULD NEVER HAVE GOT THIS PAYDAY IN A MILLION YEARS OTHERWISE

I agree with you, but you need to turn off Caps Lock, Mr. Partridge.

The press conference went pretty much the way I expected. There is wit and intelligence in Conor's banter and I think that stands in such stark contrast to Nate's style of trash talk that relies purely on intensity, anger and irreverence that he seems to be reduced to merely a brain dead F-bomber. It's sort of neutralizes him and shuts him up for the most part. I love the Diaz brothers. I'm not hating but just keeping it real.

ya, I guess I'm alluding to the concept of making a clown show the main event over an actual title fight. Why go through with it and not deliver on the clowns? If they're looking to make money, that's the attraction, not the actual fight.

Yeah, I think a lot of people expected it to be like the Oscar Wilde v Noam Chomsky of MMA trash talk. It was ok. Diaz lost his train of thought a couple of times and didn't really make much sense. If Diaz sr wasn't shouting up to remind him what to say, it'd probably have being a lot worse.

It's the fight itself and the back and forth if they're both landing shots that should be interesting. But they probably won't understand what the other is saying in there.

Nate's gotta train. It's a shame there's no time to properly promote this match-up, I agree with that.

Try professional wrestling. Shit talk is king there.

Here, people are fans of actual combat sports.

Unless, of course, they're posting threads about McGregor's shoulders.

Nick also said he thinks Conor is a good guy in a recent interview/video. No bad blood I think.
