Sorry, it's another Conor thread...but can someone help me understand how on earth does Conor beat Khabib? Before you answer, let me clarify my question.

I can pretty much tell from seeing Conor's fights, that his number one kryptonite is the zombie opponent who can take a punch and keep coming for 5 rounds at 100%. Khabib personifies this description and hasn't even been remotely rocked or tired in any of his fights. Guys like Khabib, Edgar, Mayweather and even Nate are terrible match ups for Conor because they take away his number one strength which is his ability to put you out with one shot or a combination.

Now help me understand, how in the world does Conor beat Khabib, who by description is more like the aggressive zombies in World War Z than The Walking Dead ones?

Because a fights a fight

/thread

but Conor wont sign to fight Khabib for 20 mill when he can fight Pac for 100 mill instead

Using his speed, accuracy, length, distance, and testing his chin. If he can't put Khabib out early then he is toast. Once Khabib puts his hands on Conor he is going down and won't come back up.

Khabib could fail his championship weigh in and lose his belt on the scale, that’s one way.

Khabib ate barbozas headkick and didnt even flinch.... Even if he gets punched during a takedown attempt he will be fine. Conor cant win this one unless Khabib tries to stand with him for long period

Everyone has that switch that can be shut off in an instant, the more rounds you log in fighting the higher the likelihood of getting KTFO....

With that said a Khabib makes Conor look like the grappling novice that he is.

Khabib is aggressive to a fault, but not great at cutting the cage. Conor is outstanding at circling out and using his kicking game to establish and manage distance. There's a possibility Conor makes this look like Rousey-Holm, with Khabib running headlong after an elusive foe, tiring himself out while getting pot-shotted.

I favor Khabib, but Conor has definite paths to victory.

This the same khabib who couldn't take iaquinta down Midway through rounds 2 through 5

The wheelkick wasnt flush at all. Khabib has been stunned by a juiced Tibau and Johnson.

Conor def has a chance has each round starts standing. Having said that, he will be at the wrong end of a mauling if Khabib takes him down.

Conor KTFO rounds 1-2, if not then
Khabib rounds 3-5 rape

Real talk, no bias.

I see it the same way. If it gets to the halfway point of round 3 and Conor hasn't banked at least one 10-8 round, it doesn't look good for him. I would say a mercy sub is a more likely outcome than a decision at that point - Nate Diaz's jiu-jitsu is fantastic, but IMO Conor tapped as quickly as he did because he was exhausted and knew it wasn't his night - but either way Khabib probably has it. Khabib's gas tank isn't amazing either, but he's good at maintaining offense and pressure even when he's tired, especially if he's dominating the wrestling.
