I love Nate, I'd bet on him beating Poirier easily but I think he needs to retire

I know this Idea has been overdone, but I really think he needs to think about his future at this point.

Nate just does not sound well In all his last multiple Interviews. He sounds like someone already suffering from some noticeable CTE.

For the sake of the fighters, I think on some level we all need to take a stand along with the fighter to keep them from themselves.

I'm sure Nate will fight again, regardless of my personal concerns. For the sake of his future though, In terms of preventing CTE.. I think he'd be wise to weigh his options and make the most Intelligent choice.

I think Nate was pissed that he's not the main event and felt disrespected so he bailed.

I saw that season live too and he sounded more or less the same to me.

The slurring and stumbling over words is a symptom of social anxiety and not being able to make what your brain wants to say come out of your mouth the same way. I suffered with this for many years myself ( was always a very concise, clear speaker as well as an articulate and animated story teller).

Until I suffered 3 bad concussions in a row and developed severe social anxiety. I would constantly stumble over words and while I knew what I wanted to say words would get lost between my brain and mouth. It was extremely frustrating and still happens from time to time but I no longer have the anxiety and am more or less back to normal now.

Now imagine having social anxiety and having to speak in front of huge crowds and give tv interviews that are potentially being broadcast to millions. Just showing up is honestly very respectable and I don't think most people understand how hard it is when every part of you is telling you not to do something but you are mentally strong enough to put one foot in front of the other and force your body to go when it is trying it's best to stop you.

Dry mouth, sick feeling in the pit of your stomach, shaking and trembling as well as struggling to breath and speak while trying to hide the fact you're incredibly uncomfortable and just want to find somewhere to hide.

It's a really fucked up feeling when your mind and body are working against each other instead of as one and I feel for anyone who has to deal with that on a daily basis.

He needs to carry on with his career or just quit. If hes going to have a hissy fit everytime Conors name is metioned then it should be the latter. As much as I dislike Mcgregor he is the UFC at this point and Nate is only the draw he is because of him. He beats Dustin then more than Likely they would make him next.

by the way, to anyone reading this thread.

This has absolutely nothing to do with him walking off and supposedly "not fighting" so you can stop commenting on that.

What he's doing is just a roundabout promotional tactic, nothing more.

What I'm speaking of In this thread Is a different topic entirely.

He sounded normal to me and this kind of thing always gets brought up when he talks after a period away. Your boy Conor hasn't made him talk any worse.

Now that he's finally reached the level where he can these get big paydays he might as well bang out a couple fights. Make the inevitable CTE worth something at least.

UFC should have let him rot away on the bench.

MMA wouldn't have lost anything that matters.
