Then, the question becomes: who does Alvarez fight when he comes back?
Actually a pretty good question.
Does Bellator still try to set up the trilogy, even if Chandler is (hypothetically) coming off a loss? Or do they unify the titles first?
Eddie beats either guy, doesn't matter much. He would just have a lot more trouble with Chandler. If Brooks wins Bjorn will prolly drink himself into a coma
They'd have to do vs will brooks , but I doubt brooks wins
I usually never say never but i can't see Brooks winning this fight even if they fought 100 times.
Lol brooks knocking someone out... he's the definition of a point fighter
This. Brooks is a nice little prospect, but he's got a long ways to go. Looking at his progression thus far, I don't even know if he will ever become a knock out artist. His striking is still really awkward looking. I think Chandler will outclass and finish Brooks.
Brooks is going to get his ass kicked.
i think Chandler is going to make it look easy
brooks has no chance.
like pat cummins kinda chance.
Chandler finishes Brooks in the first round violently
Brooks was supposed to lose to Kitaoka and he fucked that up. Fate has been cruel to Bellator, watch Brooks fuck this up too.
Meh. Brooks rant during the press conference didn't really win him any fans, and he's still a ridiculously fresh prospect. Chandler wins 9/10 times.
Brooks is a point fighter.
I kinda wanna see ILL WILL win to see how Bellator reacts.
This,Chandler is gonna smear Brooks all over the canvas
If ILL WILL wins, I can see them giving Miguel an automatic rematch due to the fight being such short notice.
Poor Chandler. Great entertaining fighter who comes off like a great guy, yet so many people who claim to like him want him to lose his fights just because they think/hope it would be the death of Bellator even though it wouldn't be.
I understand being torn between EA-Chandler...and leaning towards Eddie's side because of how much he has riding on it but "I like Chandler, but i hope he gets knocked OUT just to see Bellator have to go in a different direction with the title scene" is just weak.
There's no first, Alvarez has one fight left on his current contract, and win or lose, he's a free agent. Whomever Alvarez fights next will be his last opponent of this contract (whether he stays with Bellator or signs with the UFC is the question).
Whether they want to complete the trilogy regardless of Chandler's loss, or if they forego that to have a champion vs champion unification, I don't know. A loss would certainly take the shine off a rubber match, but it could still be the bigger money maker.
I like will brooks a lot. And ill be rooting for him. But his chances of winning are very slim
Separate names with a comma.
