I just dont understand this Brady-Rodgers stuff. Sorry

yes i know Rodgers is a great qb. Atg. But cmon......

Lets do it like this.

One guy is in his 40s. Still playing at an elite level, taking patchwork teams of nobodies and castoffs deep into the playoffs/superbowl, has won 5 superbowls, which arguably should be 8, ALL on a reduced salary....has Gronk who’s never there when he actually needs him, Belechick who’s defenses are getting sorrier and sorrier as the years go by, and had Randy Moss for a few years......

The other throws a beautiful football, but is hated by most of his team. Blames everyone else when stuff goes wrong but takes all the credit when it goes right. Has one superbowl and an otherwise embarrassing playoff record. All on one of the largest contracts in league history ( gee i wonder why they cant get players these days). And had a stacked team during his lone SB run and for a few years before and after.

Sorry. But its the most ludicrous argument in all of sports.

Since when do most of the Packers hate Rodgers?

And it's simple, Rodgers is a superior QB but Brady is a stellar QB who has a far, far, far better coach and organization behind him.

Rodgers wouldn't be .500 in Super Bowls if he played for the Pats. I'll put it that way.

But they can’t get any players!!!!! Dont you see?! Doesn’t matter that he signed a massive contract that has handicapped the team completely

Noooooooo, its green bays fault! And those receivers!? Who cares if Aarons having a bad game! Its all on them!

And his playoff record? Pffffff. Doesn’t matter thats it’s absolutely pathetic. He won a SB a decade ago with a stacked team! Thus hes the GOAT!! Simple really.

I think I’m getting the hang of this.

What massive contract, the one Rodgers signed this August? Yeah, that’s definitely crippled the team, not having a GM who relys on draft/develop > signing any free agents and ending up with garbage drafts the last few years. Their 2015 draft has one player that’s still on the team and he tore his ACL in training camp... They’ve never had cap space issues over the last few years because they don’t sign any free agents, they had plenty of room to be more aggressive

Both put up pretty similar numbers last night, but what was the difference? One defense gave up over 30 and the offensive play calling was noticeably worse. Same old shit

Couldn’t care less who people think is better, both are badasses, but I’ve always thought people bringing up “team/playoff records” for comparing individuals when said individuals don’t even play one half of the ball (or third if we’re counting special teams) and the situation is completely out of their hands is a silly argument

The Packers are the Browns. They are that bad. Most 1st round draft busts over the last decade besides the Browns. Constant bad defenses besides the Superbowl era.

Brady has had better weapons, better defenses, better protection, way better coaching and scheming and the easiest path to and through the playoffs.

Brady has everything going for him. Rahjas has everything working against him.

Go back 10 years and put Rogers on the Pats and Brady on Green Bay.

Does Brady survive in GB?

Brady could win another 2-3 super bowls but that still wouldn't be enough for all the Aaron Rodgers apologists
Why do retards like you not understand Superbowls are a team stat/accomplishment not a QB stat/accomplishment

We've seen Brady have meltdowns with mediocre lines. Imagine if he had some of the shit Rodgers worked with. He'd cry his way out of the damn league.

The worst part is, I'm a fucking Bears fan. The fact I feel obligated to defend Rodgers being the GOAT is sickening but he is.

so if brady is just a system quarterback as a couple of you are saying, how did that system work before brady got with Belichick? Was he a hall of fame coach in the making? 41-55 record in seasons before he had brady, i believe. but yea, bill made tom
Tom Brady is definitely a fantastic QB but there's something to the whole Patriots system definitely helping Brady far more. You keep bringing up his record before Brady, but during the first SB, Brady was basically a non-factor, a game manager at best.

- In his first Superbowl, he completed 16/27 passes for 147 yards and 1 TD

People talk about the winning record but the Pats have always played in the worst division in all of football. The Pats play 6 games a year against the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins.

- In 15 seasons starting with 2003 until 2017, outside of the Patriots, the other three teams in the AFC East have ammassed a winning record only 13 times. Re-read that again. Between the Dolphins, Jets, and Bills, they have only had a winning record a total of 13 times in 15 years. Talk about piss poor.

- It's funny how you are attempting to act as if there isn't an extremely solid and sound system in NE with Belichick, trying to minimize the importance of Belichick's impact on Brady's career. Brady has missed 19 games total and you know what Belichick's record is without Brady is? 13-6, a whopping .684% without Brady. With Brady, the Pats are winning .781% of their games. Even without Brady, Belichick is still winning games at an alarming rate.

- Let's see how good Mike McCarthy is without Aaron Rodgers and see if there is a difference. Aaron Rodgers has missed a total of 18 games and the Packers are 6-11-1, a whopping .352 %without Rodgers. With Rodgers, the Packers are winning .651% of their games.

- Hmm, wow, I guess there is something to it, isn't there? Without Brady, Belichick and NE is still winning 10.9 games a year while the McCarthy and the Packers are only winning 5.6 games a year without Rodgers.

- Last comparison of each QB and their respective teams:
The Pats win exactly .097% more games with Brady than without him
The Packers win exactly .299% more games with Rodgers than without him.
Essentially, Rodgers value to his team is 3x that of Brady.

Unlike the NBA where there are only 5 starters and the impact of a singular player affects the game far more, all NFL teams have 22 starters so one guy can only do so much so to paint a clearer picture, you look at how the teams have fared without player X and it's clear to see which team and organization is superior.

Slice it anyway you want, Brady is the GOAT due to his longevity and accomplishments but the best QB is Rodgers.

Like i said in another thread, rodgers isnt even the goat packer, let alone qb. Its a joke. People saying if aaron had this, if aaron had that. He doesnt because he wants to be the highest paid, not best. He is not a big game player, chockes under pressure.

A better comparison is Aaron is d Marino and Montana is Brady question when they played in the same era was Marino ever considered better then Montana? F no

NE/Brady fans don't understand football, so it's no surprise this is hard for you.

Rodgers is simply more talented and better at literally everything.
Brady is more successful and plays for a better team and coach.
Not better at winning. Simple. Rodgers is an underachiever because of his inability to consistently perform in big situations.

Lmao his team not winning is not him “underperforming in big sitauations”

Ya haters act like Brady has had hall of famers every year he's just clutch aaron isn't get over it

Well, he is/was.

Ya haters act like Brady has had hall of famers every year he's just clutch aaron isn't get over it

Name a hall of fame player Rodgers threw to or had running for him.

Gronk and Moss are better than anyone Rodgers ever had.

Lol

Rodgers is the greatest!!!!!

He never wins anything. But thats ok!!! Hes throws a pretty football!!

Am i doing it right?
Yes. Yes you are. And adam scott has the best swing in golf, so he is the greatest of all time!

The level of brain-numbing idiocy in this thread is staggering. I shouldn't be surprised though, considering Rodgers fans are the Flat-Earthers of sports fandom, so facts and logic don't really have much importance to them.

Let's take those dumb arguments and dismantle them one by one:

''Brady wins because his division is weak''

''Belichick is the reason Brady wins''

Belichick without Brady had 5 seasons in Cleveland, only 1 playoff appearance, no playoff wins, and subsequently got fired. A record of 36-44. His first season in New England he was 5-11, 0-2 in the next when Bledsoe got hurt. With Brady, the Pats went 13-3 and won the Superbowl.

Belichick is 19-19 as a Pats coach with someone other than Brady. He's 0-2 in playoff appearances when he has full seasons without Brady.

2000 Pats 5-11 (Without Brady)
2001 Pats 13-3 Win Superbowl (With Brady)

2007 Pats 18-1, 16-0 regular season, best offensive season ever at that point, only bested by 2013 Broncos (With Brady)
2008 Pats 11-5 miss playoffs with vastly easier schedule than 2007 (Without Brady)

I don’t see why it has to be one extreme or the other.. you can’t give either Brady or bill all the credit for the Patriots being what they are. Overall they’ve been a really well ran franchise for the last 15 years or whatever. Neither Brady or Bill alone are the reason for that.

@ThereIsNoSpoon

Brady's defenses are also a credit to game winning drives. If he scores, and the defense doesn't give anything up, he gets credited with it. Rodgers has never had a defense that can do that.

You wanna talk about early power rankings lol, what a goofball. When you start 1-3 you're not going to be favorable in anyones eyes, especially when you lost your starting QB.

I can't find the stat but the AFC East is statistically one of the worst divisions vs the rest of the league minus the Patriots. The Patriots are consistently a good TEAM. It's not just Tom Brady. They are a great TEAM with a great COACH in a bad division. They have a HoF QB when every other TEAM in that division has been playing find a QB for 20 years. When the JETS biggest hope is Chad Pennington... Well, this is what you get.

Bill is definitely the consistency behind that team. Even when Brady is injured that team is successful. Brady is a HOF QB, no doubt. He contributes.

New England weren't exactly a shit team with Bledsoe. Some would argue they win that SB anyway based on their defensive play had he not gotten knicked.

But yeah, he's just an average head coach without Tom.
so true. they were an impressive 5-11 with bledsoe the year before tom took over. not shit at all

Because defenses dont exist
Bledsoe the year before he got hurt:
17td 13int
Brady the following year when they won the sb:
18td 12int.
But im sure you already knew that since youre some fucking pats historian.

Yeah, huge fucking difference, no way a great coaching staff and defense pulled that out.
God youre an annoying blowhard. Gonna make a cup of coffee and try to guess how youre gonna spin those stats
