This former American Football college safety didn't get drafted to the NFL so he decided to step into the cage. With a few years of training, Dominick Reyes went undefeated all the way to a title shot against Jon Jon Jones, who many consider the GOAT of MMA. & Dominick Reyes just gave Jon Jones one of the most competitive fights he has ever had, many believing Reyes actually should have got the nod.

You see what an MMA coach can do with an undrafted football player like Dominick Reyes with a few years of training. Imagine what an MMA coach can do with superior athletes who are bigger, stronger and faster. Athletes like Chandler Jones, Nick Bosa, Von Miller, George Kittle, Khalil Mack,, TJ Watt, Julio Jones, Joey Bosa, A-A-ron Donald, Fudge etc. etc.

Most American Football players grow up wrestling, running track, and playing basketball as well. What's is your point? That is what an A-level athlete does. They choose the sport the want to excel in, usually the one that pays the most. That is what Miocic and Reyes did, they choose Football/baseball. When they didn't make it to the pros, they turned to MMA. Miocic became the Heavyweight Champion and Reyes almost beat who many consider the GOAT.

Here is an old list of American Football players who were champion wrestlers.

    You're right. He isn't an A-level athlete.
