But he looked pretty fantastic in his win on Saturday!
His boxing looked as slick as ever and he just brought it to Rivera.
If only he would strike more when he has an opponent hurt, I think he would have a lot more finishes, he just goes to grappling at points where he should pound away.

That said I am excited to see him climb the ranks, he is IMO a win or two away from a title shot. He just needs to get big named match ups.

Maybe a fight vs Michael McDonald? IDK if he already has a fight lined up or something...

mcdonald is really the only fight. raphel should fight for the title (please no instant rematch for barao), faber already beat him, so the only other fight i would see could be johnny ed. barao should move up to fw, weight cut seems to impact him

He should either get Cruz or the winner of Alcantara/Lee winner imo. Mayday is coming off a loss and is 1-2 in his last 3. Let him get some wins and give him time to improve.

I would love the McDonald fight, on paper that is one of the most explosive match ups Bantamweight has to offer. Maybe even give him Barao if he doesn't move up in weight? (even though I'd give Barao like a 70% chance of beating Takeya)
Mizugakis boxing could spell trouble for Barao in points of the fight...

The Cruz fight would be awesome!
I would expect Mizugaki would swing at a lot of air in that one.... Depending on how Cruz is when he returns.

I love me some Mizugaki.

Guy's boxing is really technical and fun. He needs to get a little more killer instinct, but he has made an amazing resume the last years.

Because nobody cares

Why would MMA fans not care about an exciting veteran who is consistent in his high paced action fighting style on a 5 fight win streak in a division that just became very interesting (as far as championships go) over night?

Agreed, he could have finished the fight Saturday on several occasions, still he kept with those tight right hands and ruined Rivera.
Twas a great fight though.

His win over RIvera was impressive. I think he would get choked out by Dillashaw as he did by Faber. Fight with Mcdonald makes sense. Then possibly the winner of Dillashaw/Assuncao if booked.

Love the Miz. I remember his epic battle with Miguel Angel which made me a fan instantly. Let him beat the crap out of Eduardo.

He probably only cares about the heavier weight divisions and because he's myopic he misses the most exciting divisions.

McDonald, Cruz, or even Barao would be great matchups for Mizugaki IMO.

He's a grinder type fighter with good skills in all areas, underrated striking, underrated wrestling, overrated chin perhaps? not sure- he got tagged pretty good by rivera several times but never appeared 'wobbly' by any means. Mizugaki is becoming very patient- in his fight with Nam Phan we saw him score big at the average pace of the fight, but when he went to finish he was burning energy like crazy and had more excitement than accuraccy, and Nam Phan recovered and ended up possibly winning the last round. I am glad to see the adjustment in his game in the Rivera fight- he 'might' have been able to finish him with that knockdown in the first round, but what would a burnt-out mizugaki have for a second round- Rivera?

Cannot wait to see who's next.

I'm a big Takeya fan. He has totally revamped his career. He also probably as the longest streak of win, lose, win, lose, win, lose of anyone. But not lately, just wins.
