probably when Nate choked out Conor. I've been a fan of Poiriers ever since watching fightville long ago. I couldn't hold back my excitement seeing him get that awesome TKO. When Eddie had him down I wasn't super worried for him. It was amazing seeing him defend that choke just with his chin and to me he didn't look that concerned about it.

Were any of you as excited for his win as I was?
 
It was a lot of fun, but I feel like his win is somwhat diminished by the multiple headbutts he hit Eddie with.

Also, let’s not act like the stand up wasn’t a huge factor in the outcome.

Dustin acting like he hit a home run when he really born on 3rd base.

If not for bullshit stand up, head butts, and Dustin grabbing the fence, that fight goes differently.

I watched that same doc. Been a huge fan since his debut in the WEC. I was fucking pumped!

I'm a Porier fan but I don't see him as champ. Just don't see it. That said I hope he gets paid good here, he has maybe 3 years of Prime in him but he's a solid #3 to #5 guy.
 
I'm happy he won, almost as much as I was really happy that Aldo put away Stephens. Good night of fights.

Poirier is a great I've been a fan of his when I first saw him fold Grispi with a body shot.

Same here , Would love to see him get a title shot , Always enjoyed his fights but I never thought he would be a true contender for the Belt .

I don't agree. You would have to think that Eddie was going to win off of that position and I do not believe he was going to win off of that. Dustin was just going to get back to his feet and finish him in the same fashion that he did. I also don't think the stand up was that bad. Eddie should have lost the first fight off of illegal strikes so he should have been more careful. I think refs should give quick consequences so fighters stop being so careless.

Dang the main was so great that I almost forgot about how happy I was for Aldo. He was so happy for the win that he broke down right in the cage. I want to see him fight Ortega.

Absolutely silly assertions. Poirer was in no immediate danger. Was it unfortunate? Yes. Is Eddie literally the only one to blame? Yes. Head butts are common when in fighting. To use that as an excuse is baseless, as Eddie had already been granted extended time just because of his history. The fight was over. Eddie grabbed fence, illegal elbow, and was equally responsible for any incidental head butts.

I was happy for him, but I just don’t know if he’ll ever be able to win the belt.

Fighting for the belt is tremendously high pressure. We’ve seen even good fighters collapse when going for it
 
I'm almost always rooting for the ATT guys, especially one's around a long time like Dustin, not so much the new comers. at least not all of them.
But you might be right with Nate beating Conor, I wasn't that excited since Weidman KO'd Silva.. I ran around my house out of shock
