I am closing in on 40 and I haver been following MMA since the mid 90's. I live in Denmark, so watching live shows usually means staying up till 6-7 in the morning, often alone because not many have the need to watch the fights live as I do. So many fights have given me butterflies in the stomach weeks and months before the fight takes place. I used to have it every time Fedor, Wanderlei, GSP(not so much in the last few years) or Anderson fought. But I havent really had those butterflies for a while. I am not sure if I have just been oversaturated with MMA since there are SO many events, and all are easy to watch. Or maybe it is the feeling that MMA has changed because it has become a million dollar sport and so many fighters are willing to play it safe and win on points. Whatever it is, I have had a hard time getting hyped. I have even started watching the fights the day after instead of in the middle of the night live. And don't get me wrong, there has been MANY great fights the last years, I just did not have the feeling of nervousnes like if I had to go in the ring myself. But goddamnit boys, I have had that feeling since Jones vs. Cormier was announced. I am looking more forward to this fight then I did to Christmas, or New Years Eve. Forget about personalities and who said what said. These are two of the greatest fighters that have ever lived, both undefeated(Jones loss is as real as Fedors loss to Kohsaka), both fighters fired up with what i belive is genuine dislike for each other, which usually adds to the fun. I do not know who will win but damn this is going to be good. I missed this feeling.
