How remarkable is this? My 2001 Ford Ranger has 165k miles on it, and the breaks have never been changed out.

The miles aren't all highway either. I've also pulled a trailer across the country and back with this truck.

How is this possible? I do use my gears to slow me down, but it still makes no sence.

Are you talking about breaks or brakes?

Thems the breaks man...

HA!!!! Gotcha!

I've been changing your brake pads every 10,000 miles in the middle of the night for years. Oooooh man it was so worth it.

best prank ever

boy do you look silly now

Break pads have never been changed? Have the rotors been resurfaced or changed? That is pretty amazing, to be honest with you I do not believe you

Stop stop you're braking my heart.

Lol you been checking them regularly? They have to be almost completely worn out by now.

I'd bet money your front disc brakes stopped working long ago and its the rear drums that are doing all the work, probably worn down to the steel too.

There is no way the front pads are functioning properly and if they were you'd be hearing metal on metal from probably 75k onwards.

So pics or gtfo. I want to see some factory motorcraft part numbers and a cantaloupe that way we know your not grabbing a random pic off the internet.

There's really no way to prove it over the Internet. If i was going to make some stupid shit up just to get attention, I would say that i kicked someone''s ass or something. There's no way I would give all the creadit to something as uninteresting as disk brakes. My brother called Bullshit too. Stranger things have happened. I used to go to a music store, and they had a guitar that hadn't been tuned in years that somehow stayed in tune........I don't know. I wouldn't believe it either, but I've owned the truck since 05 and it only had less than 30k on it when I purchased it.

They're low, but the rotors still look like glass. I'll post a pic on Monday. I'm taking the truck to the shop because it seems impossible that this could be real life. I'm not much of a mechanic, but you're probably right. I didn't even think of that. The only problem is that the breaks work too good to only have the rear drums working, and I think I would hear metal on metal.

This is the one time I'm going to prove all you fuckers wrong. If the front brakes are actually working, I'm making a utube video of this shit.

The only way to prove this is to drive towards a cliff top speed and brake at the very last second. On camera. Only then will you have vindicated yourself in the eyes of the Mayberry. Godspeed.
