I drive an Acura RSX 2003 base model, it's all stock. I want to resell and buy a Volkswagen GTI or a Mazda Rx-8 around the same year. Should I or is it too much of a hassle?

I drive a Honda Civic Type R.

Honda's are very reliable, nothing has gone wrong with mine, mines a 2004 model. They are very quick, 2ltr Vtec's. 6 gears manual, 200bhp standard.

Give it a go, they're extremely reliable and such a good comfy drive. takes corners well.

Max I've had is 152mph.

I just googled it and I don't know man, if I was to buy a hatch back I would want it to be a GTI. But yes, Honda's are built like tanks haha

How much are those cars? If you won't be spending much more, say less than 2k, go for it.

With me, as long as it takes me from point A to point B, I don't really care what I drive....hence a 97 Corolla!

Mazda Rx-8's are really unreliable and bad on gas. Don't know about current day VW's but I owned a Jetta and it spent more time being fixed than running. Cost more to fix as well. Sell your base RSX and get a Type S.

Stay away from rotary engines. What's your price range? Have you considered looking at a supra?

Forget the rx8,il tell you that right now lol.
Stay away from rotaries all together!

Another (serious) question, how old are you?

LOL In 4 minutes me,ghost, and johnkilo said the same thing.
Their replies werent there when i was putting the msg together!

I worked in a service center for a couple years and VW's were by far the worst. Those things are always broke down. Mazda's are built cheap as shit and the interiors are a nightmare to clean.

The reason why I ask this, OP, is because if you're only a teenager or in your early 20's you should stick with the decent car you have and concentrate on other things like school or saving money. I'm going to be 30 next month and I didn't get the car I really wanted until just last year, and I'm happy I had the car I did when I was younger (Toyota Corolla).

But if you're rich and just looking for suggestions... do whatever you want.

Like myself and others have said, stay away from the RX-8 and VWs. There is a whole rotary and VW fanbase out there that will try and persuade you otherwise, but don't buy into the hype.

What's a rotary engine? I don't know much about cars. And I'd say around 5k - 8k

Best way to explain it..is this

I'd go and get a ls1 or something. Fast, very reliable and for a v8 they get pretty good gas.

I'm 17, my grandma left me land in Mexico which we sold because of the issues happening in Mexico we wanted to get rid of it as soon as we can so I have 30k. I already had my RSX, before the 30k.

I would save that money. The thrill of having a new car fades away really fast (like its resale value).

With all due respect to GhostZ06's suggestions, I highly suggest you keep the car you have and save that money that is coming to you for something more important. You're only 17, use that money for college or an apartment or something.

When you get older and have a regular job and can afford to buy a car on your own, then you can buy the fancy car.

I'm selling my RSX for 7k and will go no lower than 6k. So I'm only looking to spend an extra 1k- 2k on getting another car. The 30k is basically going to get me through college, I still have my shitty job to pay for going out with friends and stuff. I haven't spent any of the money at all.

Well in that case, might I suggest getting a DSM? The last model produced will be a fair bit older than what you're currently driving (the GSX was discontinued in 1999), but simply put, these were Mitsubishi Evos in different clothes.
