I favor Volk in a rematch

Yes, I'm bummed out, but I favor Alex in a/the rematch.

All he needs to do is to engage more in his offensive wrestling and out cardio Islam.

He lost a few rounds just because of this.

I was underestmating Islam's standup. He's goofy but very accurate and he has power. And that takedown shot he got on Alex that lead him in the fence with the bodylock was beautiful.

But the formidable Dagestani wrestling has been proven to be cracked by Volk.

In my view Alex is still P4P, or more accurately, Islam is for sure not.

I'm not sure why he (his corner) didn't adjusted his stand-up game. Islam was well prepared.

All Volk needed was the threat of his own wrestling to level back the playing field

I would favour Islam in the rematch to stop him. I have a feeling he may have underestimated him in this fight but would take it more seriously in a rematch. Volk made a good showing of himself though.

As a Volkanovski fan, I can't say the same.

Islam is 31 compared to Volk's 34. I believe that luck favored Volk a lot in the first few rounds, when he was able to escape from Islam's grappling and submissions.

What really turned the tide toward Volk at the end was Islam's flagging cardio in round 5. That's an easy thing for Islam to work on if they fight again. Volk can't fix his disadvantages.

Islam doesn’t gas in the rematch and wins more decisively. He’s to big man. Volk couldn’t land that much on the feet. Couldn’t land his jab
