I don't see Izzy becoming champ again at MW, but he could still easily become champ at LHW

Strickland and DDP have its number, but at LHW he will be too skilled for those LHWs. Also he would have the speed advantage too. This would be by far the best move for his career.

He moved up 3 and half years ago in the prime of his career and confidence and got bodied by Jan. Now at 35 and losing 2 in a row, he would likely do worse against true LHWs

I think Izzy should go for the interim belt against Aspinall. Aspinall is a slow striker and I think Izzy wins by question mark kick to the thigh.

This may be the weirdest post I've seen regarding Izzy, given:

A) who the LHW champ is, and his history with Izzy, and
B) the fact that Izzy hasn't ever looked impressive at 205.

Is TS totally new to this?

Edit, nvm, it's justmark... sense isn't expected.

I believe you missed the Jan fight a few years back when Izzy was actually in his prime.

He doesn't have the natural frame size or power to deal with good LHWs.

How did that work out vs Jan over 3 years ago when was 32 and in prime?

He will get fucked up much worse at LHW. His reflexes and durability seem to have declined and hes never had great power even vs MWs.

I do kinda wanna see Izzy vs Jiri and Walker though for the stylistic match up. I honestly think he loses both those fights at this point though.

He'd need to do a serious muscle gaining bulk.

Poatan was different because he was drastically dehydrating to get to 185; and (now please correct me if I'm wrong) I'm assuming that Poatan's weight pre cut is above the 220lb # that I have in my head from when he was fighting at 185.
He hasn't got a hope in hell of Alex without a savage weight cut
I'd argue that a smart Poatan (I called his KO at Izzy's hand as being possible beforehand) doesn't lose to him at any weight.

That said, they do have a lot of experience against each other. And their both high level strikers.
Izzy 195 champion next.

After Dana and Hunter gets fired and they get a boxing guy to run things.
Rich Franklin Weight?

"Easily become champ at LHW"

If he gets through Blachowicz this time?

Or even better - go train with Poatan, learn his weight cutting techniques. Then drop to WW and bully Belal for the belt!

This was my attempt at justmark impersonation.
