I dont get you people....

Benson fulfilled his contract obligations before he left for more money, not only is Conor still under contract but he inked a fight.

A fight the UFC are refusing to allow happen, when they could have just fined Conor instead of ruined the event.

When Benson bounced everyone was like. Yeah benson is the f***ing man!! Screw teh UFC for paying fighters peanuts!! I hope more top fighters leave!! Blah blah blah!!

Now you've got the biggest star in the game standing his ground and demanding what he's worth in relation to the money he generates and now everyone is on the UFC's side? Da fuq?? Did Conor rustle your jimmies that much? Let that hate in your heart go!! This is good for all the fighters that the biggest star is standing up to the ufc!!

Super scared pussy prima donna panic wrestling greed mongers should not be allowed to get their way when they retire and cry.

I think people pretty consistently support fighters sticking it to the UFC when they agree with the fighter's reasoning. To support ANY fighter going against the UFC in ANY situation, regardless of the context, is really immature. That's the kind of mindset that most people grow out of in their teens.

People around here have always ranted on about how the fighters don't get paid enough, then when Conor does what he needs to do (talk smack basically) to get paid people shit on him, then he stands up against the UFC, and people shit on him. It is the way it is around here that people are blinded by their love or hate of a fighter's personality. Everyone takes the extreme, black or white, without an appreciation of the grey.

It is the same thing in that everyone was saying 'lol he better start drilling leg kicks and grappling', but when he isolates himself in Iceland to prevent the distraction of the media and simply DO EXACTLY THAT, people want to shit on him saying he's lost it, and he's scared, and whatever.

I don't get it...
Other fighters have to do promos they dont want to do. Nate would have to do the same promos Connor shouldn't get a special pass when the UFC has already bent over backwards to accommodate him.

Your mom is doing it for me after she gargled my balls in her mouth.
How else is she going to "gargle" them, in her armpit?
Redundancy undermined your impact.

Movie was awesome

It would be different if Conor wasn't coming off a semi-embarrassing loss after being promoted as the Michael Jordan of MMA and all of a sudden he's too busy to promote but not too busy to cry for attention on twitter.

You don't HAVE to talk smack to get paid, but people like Chael and Conor sure make it seem like you do. Also, trash-talk is fine and all, but to call legends of the UFC (and MMA) "cowards" and hate on a whole Country is crossing the line. These new "fans" that people like Conor are generating are the same ones thinking Aldo, Silva, Frankie, Nate, Mendes, ETC are "cowards" and "bums". Where is the respect? Just look at these new "fans" and their posts on FB/Twitter...it's full of ignorant BS.

IMHO, Conor isn't standing up to the UFC to benefit anyone other than himself. He has said many times in the past that the press/media is a large part of the game and that he LOVES IT and has MASTERED IT. Then, to come out and BS like that played a part in him losing against Nate is all excuses and nonsense. He is just looking to keep his name in the headlines and make more money.

Yeah I can understand that, and I must admit that I have not been following the forums lately so may not be completely aware of the saga. From what I know he offered to do the main press conference but did not want to do all the talk shows and media but wanted to concentrate on training, which I can also understand. I think his tweet about retirement was stupid (or genius if done simply to create indirect promotion) but fuck the guy has also bent over backwards for the UFC with promotion until now, he is coming off a humiliating loss...give him some leeway to train and get the W so you can build his hype again.

I ain't praising Connor for being scared.

This. Benson didn't leave because he didn't want to fight a guy that whooped his butt. We all know this. Conor did.

Yeah I am not a fan of the blatant disrespect either...and the ignorance it breeds. I don't necessarily like Conor's approach, but I just hope that his going for the lion share of the PPV pie and standing up to UFC sets a positive precedent for other fighters to attain these (without the disrespect and over the top antics)

That is not true
They had three pressers sched & a commercial.
It would have taken a week to do.
It is 11 weeks before the fight.
UFC offered to fly in all of Conors training partners & build him a gym exactly the way he wanted it so he could still train.
He would be able to train 5/7 days
Conor said no to everything, but a NYC presser.
His only other press obligations would be fight week - like everyone else

Sherdog is full of retarded people. Don't worry about what they say just talk down to them and educate them because they don't provide anything of value besides some funny photoshop.

they saved the event. It was a joke. In no way does a non-title fight deserve the top spot over 2 title fights. If Conor wants the PPV money, defend the fucking belt.

Oh stop being a fucking idiot. The fight that is going to be responsible for generating the most money is the main event. Stop being a fucking arsehole when confronted with reality.

Conor should have made his stand after a victory not a loss.
