I don’t even think Dan Hardy deserved his shot at GSP

Of course he was gifted the Titleshot. The UFC was trying to break into the European market and besides Bisping had no draws.

GSP was highly critized for not finishing him too because Hardy was considered the easiest challanger in years.

I don't think they intentionally manufactured his path to a title shot.

Hardy was far from a stand out talent on the UK regional scene, there was no reason to think he would have been able to become a fixture in the UFC.

He obviously improved and managed to get on a winning streak but it would be surprising to think he would ever fight for a title looking at his performances even 15 fights deep in his career.

Hardy was getting stopped on small regional shows.

Well he managed to avoid every wrestler, which there were numerous at the top of Welterweight. Koscheck, Hughes, Fitch. That’s something the UFC loves to do to guide somebody they’re favoring to a title shot.

I think it could it could like that on paper but it was probably a coincidence.

Either that or something the UFC did to play the percentages but he was from a Conor Mcgregor or a Frankie Edgar who looked like they would fight for the title within minutes of stepping in the Octagon.

The 2nd bj fight just proved a great bigger man usually will beat up a great smaller man.........bj talked a great game but when I saw the 2 meet at the middle-------- I knew what was coming.

i agree hendricks deserved that win. but he at least did enough to eek out the fight in some eyes. so i still count it when measuring his greatness, but i do bring it up as a loss myself when gsp fans argue the decision
