I let you down Sherbros.
I was at the gym the other day on the bench press. I am trying to break through this plateau and bench [an undisclosed amount of weight] so I do a few warm up reps and finally try to achieve my goal.
Now, usually, I don't do this without a spotter, but it is a (Smith Machine I think it's called) so I don't need no spotter.
Had my headphones on, hype music going and I lifted the bar. Already it felt heavier than a sonofabitch. Fuck that, can't bail out now. There is no spoon!
Got the bar down...
elbows locked in a 45 degree position...
Crap! I wanted to push through (even though with the smith machine you can bail at any point).
A guy nearby saw me and asked if I needed help. Realizing I wouldn't be able to get it this time, I submitted. Thing is, the guy helped me lift it in such a panicky way, it appeared to make a scene. I mean, I appreciated it, but damn! Lol
I sat up on the bench after my failure. To make matters worse, a guy next to me on an adjacent bench MADE SURE to make eye contact.
Why tf couldn't he just let me brood in my failure, why did he have to make it known
"I saw you!"
Any way do I have to turn in my Sherdog card now?
All support is welcome.
