Here's what I think Conor is doing in his off time. Conor already has the best boxing in the UFC, and arguably the best Striker. So he has taken all of this time to up his wrestling and grappling game. This is reinforced by his Instagram where most of his training footage is him grappling.

It's been 7 months since he boxed Floyd. That's 7 months of takedown defence, takedown, and general grappling training. He always had good TDD. But he's trying to up it because we all know khabib will beat Tony. So either the rumors are true that GSP VS Conor for 165 new division, or he fights khabib at 155. Either way he's been getting ready

Yeah I do think he wants to fight again. The reason he's taken so long off is that he's desperately trying to bridge the huge gap in grappling between him and essentially every other fighter in the UFC and he knows this. He's probably mostly training ground work. It's funny though cause 1 year of extra work is going to be useless against a guy like khabib or Ferguson who have been grappling for years. He'll still get wrecked there. Hope he fights gsp though, that'll be the most mismatched fight of all time

Allegedly he doesn't even run because of bad knees and now he'd be training wrestling non-stop? If he shows up in a wheelchair at UFC 223, then TS will be onto something.

...and we're done here
Lol I mean this isn't even a fight pick thread. I'm literally just stating that Conor is clearly training nothing but TDD and grappling lol. I think most people are picking khabib to beat Tony, but even if Tony wins he's an amazing Grappler so my point stands.

He's not going to be able to stop Khabib from taking him down, so if he only trains wrestling it's a waste of time.

Against guys that have been wrestling since high school, 7 months is nowhere near enough. Top wrestlers operate on reinforced training for muscle memory.

Just like top boxers, they have to be training from early teens onwards.

He could put in the next 3 years only rolling and he still would get outwrestled by guys that do it from the beginning

thats not how khabib will be beaten. someone timing a knee or landing clean will change things.

I think you would be surprised.

Buddy... do you know anything about collegiate wrestling? 7 months of training by Conor means nothing against a high level wrestler. Just because Conor was able to shuck off a few takedown attempts from Nate Diaz, a guy with ZERO wrestling means nothing.

Conor would need to knock Khabib out on the feet and do it fast otherwise he will get the kind of treatment that Michael Johnson and Edson Barbosa did

Could be. He will take all of this time practicing and training specifically for Tony/Khabib, wait for one of them to be injured, offer them a fight injured on short notice, and hope for the best when they accept.

Conor can train grappling for the next 5 years and he will never be in the league of Khabib. The Eagles entire life has been wrestling.. You can't just pick it up later in life. With the exception of GSP.
He is a freak.....

Maybe because of that mentality he is a Two Time ufc Champion and you're a sherdog black belt

It's not just 7 months of training lol. It's 7 months of only training TDD and grappling+ the 10 plus years of him being a MMA fighter and a brown belt in BJJ.

I am not sure him having good TDD is supported by anything substantial. A lot of people have said he has it, but what is the evidence you use to indicate this?

From October 2016 to August 2017 Conor should training cardio but he drink like crazy until May and his son get born then he start with his FAST training then he gas out. Now he is drinking whisky again and you think he was training all this time. Shame on you he fuck you twice
