it depends on how old your kids are. if they are toddlers (like ages 2-6) then you'll spend most of your time on the kiddy rides. which are actually a lot of fun when you are with your kids on them. peter pan, mr toad's wild ride, stuff like that.
if your kids are old enough for the big rides, yea you wanna map out those fast passes. the rides with the longest lines that you want to fast pass are space mountain and indiana jones. i recommend on one of your days you just go straight in the morning to indiana jones because it is likely the longest line of them all. space mountain fast pass cuts a good chunk of it out of the way.
the fast pass for splash mountain sucks, but it's better than nothing. also a really long wait, but if you wait until the evenings the lines cut down drastically b/c people don't want to get wet at night. but since you got a hotel right there it isn't as big a deal. there's also a raft type of ride in california adventure park which again, no lines once you get toward the evening. also, that ride is right by the access to the hotels, so even if you get soaked it's a pretty short walk back to your hotel.
the cars ride is also a lot of fun, also use a fast pass for it. the line can easily exceed an hour.
the line for big mountain actually isn't that bad. it can be long but it's a ride where i actually don't mind waiting.
oh, and you absolutely must do haunted house / pirates of the caribbean multiple times. just a lot of fun and good for any age.
i assume this is the DL in anaheim. tower of terror is actually gone now (which sucks, was an awesome ride) but california adventure is still pretty awesome. it can easily fill up an entire day for you there.
and keep your pace. disneyland can actually be a lot of stress if you let it with the crowds and waits. just have a good sense of humor and take things in stride, and don't rush to go to the next thing. i go about once a year with my nephew and niece and we all wear our fantasia wizard hats, it's a lot of fun.
also, stop to enjoy the small things. the shops in main street are awesome (there's an ice cream shop there that's to die for) and a lot of little things to do everywhere. in adventureland they have a shooting gallery that's a ton of fun, and while the gifts there are suuuuper expensive, they are a lot of fun to buy (especially for kids). i got my niece a blanket and she still uses it 2 years later.
so enjoy and have fun, disneyland with the family is a great experience. you are a good parent for going all out and your kids will absolutely remember it their whole lives.
