I am taking the wife and kids to Disneyland for our first family vacation. We stay at the Disneyland hotel at the park and we got the fast pass tickets and all that, spared no expense. We will be there a few days and have resveration for the new star wars part for Tuesday morning and super pumped.

What are the best rides? I want to hit Big Moutian train? The Cars for sure but what are see good ones. is Space Moutian worth the wait?

What restaurant are good and do I need resveration?

So you're going to France? Which one is it in France again? Disney world or Disney land?

Disneyland. I think there is only 1 or 2 that are Disney World. FLA and china

it depends on how old your kids are. if they are toddlers (like ages 2-6) then you'll spend most of your time on the kiddy rides. which are actually a lot of fun when you are with your kids on them. peter pan, mr toad's wild ride, stuff like that.

if your kids are old enough for the big rides, yea you wanna map out those fast passes. the rides with the longest lines that you want to fast pass are space mountain and indiana jones. i recommend on one of your days you just go straight in the morning to indiana jones because it is likely the longest line of them all. space mountain fast pass cuts a good chunk of it out of the way.

the fast pass for splash mountain sucks, but it's better than nothing. also a really long wait, but if you wait until the evenings the lines cut down drastically b/c people don't want to get wet at night. but since you got a hotel right there it isn't as big a deal. there's also a raft type of ride in california adventure park which again, no lines once you get toward the evening. also, that ride is right by the access to the hotels, so even if you get soaked it's a pretty short walk back to your hotel.

the cars ride is also a lot of fun, also use a fast pass for it. the line can easily exceed an hour.

the line for big mountain actually isn't that bad. it can be long but it's a ride where i actually don't mind waiting.

oh, and you absolutely must do haunted house / pirates of the caribbean multiple times. just a lot of fun and good for any age.

i assume this is the DL in anaheim. tower of terror is actually gone now (which sucks, was an awesome ride) but california adventure is still pretty awesome. it can easily fill up an entire day for you there.

and keep your pace. disneyland can actually be a lot of stress if you let it with the crowds and waits. just have a good sense of humor and take things in stride, and don't rush to go to the next thing. i go about once a year with my nephew and niece and we all wear our fantasia wizard hats, it's a lot of fun.

also, stop to enjoy the small things. the shops in main street are awesome (there's an ice cream shop there that's to die for) and a lot of little things to do everywhere. in adventureland they have a shooting gallery that's a ton of fun, and while the gifts there are suuuuper expensive, they are a lot of fun to buy (especially for kids). i got my niece a blanket and she still uses it 2 years later.

so enjoy and have fun, disneyland with the family is a great experience. you are a good parent for going all out and your kids will absolutely remember it their whole lives.

My kids are 8(boy) and 12(girl) and can't wait. This is the first time for all of us to go. Super Hyped.

thanks for the info. haunted masnison is one that I really want to hit up too and I will check out the ice cream shop.

About how much so far without food did it cost you (spared no expense)? If you don’t mind me asking

I took my kid to Disney world resorts back in March. It was fun and lifechanging. We got a lot closer.

Mr Toads Wild Ride is my favorite

About 6k for airfare, tickets and hotel so far but plan on anothe 2k for the food and and bring home things like the 200$ cutsom light saber I am gonna make. We staying 5 days with 3 day park hopper tickets with fast pass.

I’m sorry.

But if you want a good quick bite, go to Bengal BBQ over by Indiana Jones. You can get 4 kebabs plus a drink for like $20ish bucks and the kebabs are pretty damned good. My go to when ever I’m forced to go to Disneyland.

Obviously gotta do the haunted mansion and for some mini coasters with faster lines than space mountain hit up Matterhorn and Thunder Mountain. Pirates of the Caribbean is my must ride. Never knew they used real bones in the first area.

ETA: go get your fast pass early in the morning for space mountain and avoid that line later. But don’t wait as those fast passes go quickly.

Definitely ride space mountain. Must hit rides are space mountain, pirates, Indiana Jones, haunted mansion and thunder mountain. At California adventure, the guardians of the galaxy ride, cars and the incredibles roller coaster. Soaring California is cool and the toy story one is great too, just always a long wait.

Buckle up buttercup!

Damnnnn!!!

I thought maybe you lived in California and was driving to the Los Angeles Disneyland. Something like that, that airfare is a killer

Get fast passes for Cars, midway mania , Guardians and Space Mountain. They usually get busy.

CA adventure side has beer and wine and decent food.

Grab and go food on Disneyland, Gumbo from New Orleans Square, beef and chicken skewers from the Bengal BBQ across from Indiana Jones.

I have a pass with my son so we hit the park for just a few hours each time.

It's going to be ridiculously packed. Good luck with that. We just went 2 weeks ago and it was crazy. Fast pass and max pass helped a little, but not much. Luckily we are able to get a DAS (disability) pass. Combined with Max Pass we never waited in any lines. With max pass alone the wait for a fast pass to space mountain was like 3-4 hours at one point. Get there right when it opens and attack the popular rides first. If you're staying at the Disney Hotel I thnk you can get early access. Strategize how you use your max pass. Make reservations to the character breakfast or lunch.

california adventure is the more adult side... better rides imo. have fun
