I’ve been state mandated alcohol free for 5 months.

While not exactly by choice, but by state mandated contract, I have been completely sober for the past five months. The end result is I am sleeping better than ever and I am down 15 pounds. I swear to God that my sense of smell and hearing even feels stronger. The first month it was very difficult because my friends would drink and I would sit there and drink a soda. Now, I’m used to it and I’m having just as good a time. Plus my tab is only $15 since I only order food and soda.

I do plan on drinking alcohol when I am done with this mandate, but I do think it was a blessing in disguise.

So, I started ordering sprite/cranberry in a cocktail or pint class to make it appear like a mixed drink. (Vodka cranberry is a very popular drink around here etc)

Also just soda water and like looks like a vodka tonic etc too.

Congrats. That 3 month mark is where I started feeling amazingly better. If you really had a problem I'd recommend not going back to it but that's on you brother

I did 6 months alcohol-free last year, and it is true after a few months you feel amazing, sleep, memory, mood, health all improve I kind of regret going back to it, but in the right circumstances, it can be so much fun. I drank way too much over the holidays, so I'm going to give it a go again.
