If a certain athlete were to be in the midst of using a banned substance, either accidentally or otherwise, might he decide to "retire" and stay 1000's of miles away training in The North Pole instead of meeting a media obligation where said athlete might be drug tested?

Now a week or so later when the shamrocks have cleared his system he can continue on...

Just saying...

3 months out from a fight usually doesn't represent an issue for outside distractions. I am just trying to fathom a reasonable explanation for this hypothetical behavior that fits into the realities of The USADA World we live in now.

I think this explanation is as reasonable as any prior stated.

said explicitly he wasn't retiring so that he wouldn't have to do the 4 month wait period before he could fight again

Go back to geography class, take a look at a map, check Olympic testing facilities, and try again

Doesn't work that way

Actually The USADA targets for convenience and suspicion as well as random. And a dozen or so top athletes in one place at one time "out of competition" is convenience. Beats flying to The North Pole, South America, etc...

already a ton of people theorized this. dimspace already debunked it. dim pointed out the gym Conor is training at is really close to a the testing center in Iceland.

Absolutely not. If Conor hasn't tweeted it, it can't be true!

Ok now that's a thread debunking comment for sure. I was not aware... BUT one never knows if a lil birdie had mentioned a certain Sin City was a hot location. Just saying...

This is the world we live in now. Odd behavior equals conjecture. Certain vitamins can clear in days and possibly the window was open enuf to be elusive for a week to be sure...

There's a USADA place less than 5 miles from where he was trining in Iceland, nice try tho, should be banned for this bullshit honestly.

Just do yourself a favor, admit you're wrong and move on. It's a good quality in life to be able to admit youre wrong without 2 paragraphs of meaningless conjecture

Certainly not impossible, but I think its all just a big publicity stunt.

Hypothetical scenario to possibly explain odd behavior by an odd and hypothetical athlete... that is all.

These topics are thrust upon us by reality. We do our best to ignore and see the best in our heros, but at times we must at least consider...

It's been said about everytime this topic has been brought up since the "retirement", there was a testing place less than 5 miles from where he was training.

I certainly admit that this hypothetical scenario about a hypothetical athlete is as unlikely as any other theorized, with a simple publicity stunt being the best possibility...

Sure that probably limits this hypothetical scenario quite a bit... admitted. But we all know the simple answer isn't always the answer... Leprechaun's are tricky lil bastards! ;)

Hypothetical athlete? Look, I was wrong with my advice to you previously, if you are so depressed and sad that you need to put down Conor's athleticism so that you can sleep at night, then keep doing what you're doing and hopefully get some mental help when you are ready

I'm not sure how I put down any athletes athleticism. Do you think only bad athletes use PEDs? One must have great potential before it's probably even worth considering. I don't judge either way because it's the reality of all Pro Sports in general, even Golf.

And as for this Connor person u mention, IMO he doesn't pass the eye test for using, because I am told huge muscles and a big gut are prerequisites for such matters.

My thread was hypothetical and about athletes in general
