Curious if people would have any interest in this fight.

I ask because Rashad absolutely steam rolled Chael. I think it could and would be an amazing fight.

My gut is Sugar, but even if Silva was 44, I never ever count Silva out.

At this point? I guess rashad, if he shows up and wrestles and doesn't content himself to play patty cake like he did vs lil nog

Prime for prime id go with silva

rashad went to a drw with Bispin. no hespect for him.

I have wanted to see this fight for years.

Like many matches with Silva who is rapidly approaching 40, the passing of time does not favor Anderson at all.

30-37 year old Silva was basically unbeatable.

Now after a BRUTAL KO loss to Weidman AND a BRUTAL leg injury against vs Weidman, Anderson, who is about to turn 39 and will probably be 40 or very close to 40 before he returns to the cage.... I don't think it bodes all that well for him. Speed has always been a big part of his style along with reflexes, neither of which are known to age particularly well in athletes.

This lol

it's a fine matchup if Shad is interested at 185 but not sure how steamrolling Shael has ANYTHING to do with Shad's performance against Anderson Silva.

Silva would mind-fuck rashad like crazy. Most likely a ko for silva

Yeah, and if the mindfuck didn't work out, Silva apologists would probably be calling out for serious Silva.

this is retarded. Silva shits little shads all over the cage

Funny how out of 3 losses he was KO'd once, yet everyone expects him to lose by KO.

I say Rashad wins. Stronger, great takedowns and ground control. Silva seems to be past his best days.

Shad when he wants too maim anyone at any weight .

mmath. cmon! you may be a pro in the fight world, but you're a rookie in the thread world.

I would take Anderson here! For the reason that Rashad is far too hesitant of a fighter vs a guy like Anderson. I don't see anything that Rashad could do to pressure Anderson aside for takedowns, which I think Anderson would do well defending. Lets not forget his fight with Rogerio

Depends which Rashad shows up. If the apprehensive Rashad who fought Machida, Rogerio, and the last three rounds of the Jones fight shows up, he's getting knocked out in highlight reel fashion. If Rashad shows up in his Aasics and singlet, I'd give him a decent chance of pounding Anderson's face in on the ground.

Slight advantage to Silva because, even if Shad shows up to fight, I personally think Silva can take a bigger beating than Shad and still come back to win. I really like Rashad's chances if he comes in with wrestling/ground and pound on his mind.

At 205 I think Shad would outwrassle Anderson. I'm inclined to think similarly at 185, but I dunno.

yeah, fight that fight one more time and Bisping gets blasted. Rashad has grown leaps and bounds over Bisping. I am not saying Bisping isnt a good fighter but I do not think he has really improved all that much. He has stayed the same. Whereas Rashad has gone to different levels as far as improvement over time.

Evans would have a decent chance to win, it could be competitive though.

I know I know, Anderson is unbeatable bar a fluke injury/KO/sub, divine intervention or an act of nature...but Evans seems like a bad match up for him. I would feel more confident in the pick if Rashad's stand-up was better than it is though.

Idk if silva will be the same when he returns. But if rashad fought him instead of weidman at ufc 162 then silva would have beaten rashad by tko in round 2 or 3.
