Not to rain on your parade but you didn't really do anything.

seriously, I hope this means we are back to talking about upper deckers on the ultimate fighter. Everything is back to normal.

I wonder how much hype he'll get though. Main stream media might not be so forgiving about his issues to give him the coverage like McGregor got.

Not yet. Jon Jones still has to lose.

What exactly do people consider a "hype train"? Conor is the FW champ with a win over one of the greatest fighters ever. Jones may be the greatest fighter ever. Jones and Conor are not "hype", they are proven, especially Jones. Page and Sage were "hype trains" not the FW champ and LHW (basically) champ

Just hipster mentality. They're "above" anything popular in the mainstream, and only like "obscure" fighters. Until they become popular too and then they'll hate them aswell.

I can't speak for anyone else but for me 'hype train" means the portrayal of a fighter as literally superhuman, with the implication that they have godlike powers that make it literally impossible for them to lose to anyone ever as well as enabling them to be the most popular living beings in the history of humankind. No person's EVER been that great, and none ever will.

Everyone wants to hate on Anderson for losing his aura, what about Conor? He lost it permanently with is fucking mouth, lol.

Hahahahahahahahahahhhahahahaha

And no one seriously thinks Conor or Jones are like that. The only person hyped like that was Ronda. Were GSP, Fedor, Aldo and Anderson "hype trains" too? They were talked about just as highly

jones doesnt have a hype train

he has 8 title defences against some of the biggest names in MMA history and has a solid argument for being the best of all time

conor however did, people were calling him the GOAT and P4P number 1 without defending his title even once for gods sake

yes-diego-yes-o.gif

And I really need to see the new family portrait. Put a big fuckin " X " through Conor.

Um, you been living in a cave the past 3 years???

But just for argument's sake let's pretend that's true. And if so, then Dana's been doing a horrible job as a promoter. Because he's been working his proverbial tail off to make people genuinely believe that this whole time.

Conor beat the #1 P4P fighter (Jones is, but he was out) in the world though, so at least you can make an argument. No one ever seriously thought Conor was the GOAT. That was like a Sherdog Meme. Neither were "hype"

I still think Sage and Page have huge potential.

I think Ronda's done.
I think Conor finds success only at 145.

plenty of people were convinced conor was the GOAT or would be in the near future

and beating the number 1 P4P doesnt make you the number 1

thats not how it works

Oh really? Can you show me a time he ever said that? He talked up Anderson way more then Conor. He talks about how great Conor is but i have never seen him say he is some unbeatable god like he did about Ronda.

You calling Jones a "hype train" has got to be one of the stupidest things ever said on Sherdog. Thats like NBA fans calling Jordan a hype train

I don't think Connor was a hype train. He was and is still the champion in his weight class. The only champ I would probably say was only a hype train was Ronda and that's due to hyperbole. People actually discussed if she could beat Mayweather, Cain(under right circumstances) and probably mess around and grab the mens bantamweight belt.
