I know Dana seems to be going crazy lately and is trashing Overeem to try and get him to fight JDS next/take less money on his next contract but what I think they should do is build JDS and Overeem back up so that they are worth the money they want instead of trying to trash a guy to make him take less money.

JDS vs Overeem should happen when both guys are coming off of a win preferably an impressive one. According to Dana White, Overeem's last performance was far from impressive(I disagree he did well, showed improved cardio and fought smarter).

JDS has gotten the crap kicked out of him in 2/3 of his last 3 fights and needs to be built back up as well. Miocic has been doing great lately and would provide an interesting and likely entertaining striking match with JDS.

Overeem needs more momentum and him and Barnett have been around forever and never fought, besides they are both well rounded and big HWs, who wouldn't want to see that?

What do you guys say? Should JDS vs Overeem be set up now or after they have some momentum going? Do you like my proposed match ups and if not what do you suggest?
 
How can Overeem/JDS be setup if Overeem won't fight JDS? lol
 
I like it, think Reem/Barnett is the best match up for both of them at the moment.

What happened the other two times? Didn't someone get injured in camp for at least one of them? Why lol at Overeem having an injured rib and being on vacation? He's been in training camp for most of 2013 and 2014.

He failed a drug test the 1st time and then pulled out only 2-3 weeks after the fight was made from an injury. He received literally no damage in the Mir fight and he's vacationing and is injured? Don't believe it. He won't even take on a JDS coming off of a huge loss. It will never happen.
 
Makes a lot of sense, UFC probably will not book.
I would love to see Stipe vs. a top fighter and Reem vs Barnett is a Pride era dream match.
Book for a Japan show with Hunt vs Schaub or Rothwell, would be cool to see Hunt smash either of those guys.
 
I agree 100% with this, throwing overeem and jds in the cage NOW is bad match making, with a division so shallow with legit contenders, you are just eliminating some. Even JDS vs Stipe in my opinion is too quick for JDS, I'm not saying he doesn't deserve Stipe, but Stipe proved himself to be a top 5er IMO, if he fights JDS, gets ko'd (which is very fkin possible), you find yourself in a position where JDS is knocking at Cains door again and we sure as hell don't want to see that fight again and Stipe is back at the bottom, with no new contenders for the belt. I think of a Stipe vs Mark Hunt or Overeem vs Barnett, give JDS a Shaub or Big Nog. If both Stipe and Overeem win, make them fight for the next title shot.

So HWs can't be injured? I've seen a pro baseball player injure himself sneezing.

From what I have heard, Overeem said that his ribs were bothering him after the fight and he was on vacation when Dana was trashing him. From my understanding he said no to the JDS fight but didn't explain why, he didn't know the extent of the injury yet so it makes no sense to take a fight when you don't know how bad it is or isn't.

It's too big of a fight not to happen but it makes no sense when both guys lost 2 of their last 3 fights.
 
can you honestly blame the Reem, he was TKO'd then KO'd in his last 2 fights before Mir, let the guys head recover for crying out loud before sending him in there with JDS
 
I would be happy with those fights. But it won't work out for Reem vs JDS....cause Barnett will beat Overeem

While I think overeem wants nothing to do with junior,fighters quite often go into fights injured,if the dude wants a month off and to let training injuries heal he can do that.

Dana shouldn't of called him out like that,he is going nuts lately

makes no sense? if overeem beat Barnett or miocic he woudnt get anything or then anthor opponent,he beats jds that's instant title shot
 
This fight won't happen. Bigfoot KO'd the guy and you really think he will fight JDS?

Reem is all talk. He shit on JDS after Cain 2 & now he's doing his best to stay away from him.
 
JDS vs Overeem has to happen. We were promised this fight before and it makes sense now.

Are you asking a question or making a statement? I don't really understand what you're trying to say here at all. Beating JDS wouldn't be an instant title match for Overeem, he would only have 2 wins in a row.
