Things are interesting in the mid-tier and there are lots of new prospects but at the top it is a traffic jam and it is about to get worse.
Werdum
Velasquez
Miocic
Overeem
Dos Santos
Rothwell
Arlovskii
Especially considering Miocic, Dos Santos and Arlovskii all have basically the same style. Like Ryu, Ken and Guile.
Most of them have already fought each other, and it's hard to see anyone other than Overeem moving up significantly. The only other thing is how good is Cain now. Has he deteriorated greatly during all this time of injuries and layoff. I doubt it, he should wreck Browne and then be one away from the title again.
Cain beats Browne
Overeem beats Arlovskii
Werdum beats Stipe
There are not going to be many fights left to make then. Might as well just give the fighters a permanent ranking printed on their shorts and leave it at that. But if Cain and JDS keep winning...
