Out of all the HW fights in history and I think of 2 beatdowns by the best HW fighters of all-time that really show their dominance, tenacity, and skill. I think of 3 fights. Fedor/Sylvia and the 2 Cain/Bigfoot fights. I was also very intrigued by these beatdowns because they were the smaller man beating a much larger man.
If it wasn't for the one fair and square KO Cain got by the hands of JDS, I really think people would think twice as highly of Cain right now than they already are (which Cain is very highly thought of anyway). That one legit loss is gonna plague him in the p4p rankings until you know who suffers one legit loss. Cain has learned from that and become a complete demolition machine. Only JDS, the guy good enough to KO him once, seems to be tough enough to last a long amount of time in the octagon with him anymore even though they were complete beatdowns the last 2 times.
I'll let you compare either fight he had against bigfoot to the fedor/Sylvia fight since its argruable which one was a worse beatdown. Both complete domination of a very skilled fighter who weighs 30-40 pounds bigger than him. First one was bloodier, 2nd one was 80 seconds.
Tim Sylvia, you know, he gets a bad wrap but you gotta admit he was not bad of a fighter at all for his time. He beat (KOed) some good fighters for his time, had a dangerous reach, KO power, and certainly better than most people gave him credit for during his time. He gave Nogueira a tough fight too. Yes, we all thought we knew who would win in a Pride vs UFC era fight (geez, that era was awesome) with Sylvia vs Fedor. But all of us who thought fedor gotta admit, Tim Sylvia had some dangerous qualities and anybody can land a nice punch.
Fedor, well, I don't have to say anything about him.
Anyway, this fight was a complete demolition. Fedor when he took the chance just blasted, steamrolled, and choked him out. Not to mention Sylvia weighs about 280-290 and Fedor weighed about 230 and much shorter.
So, which was a worser beatdown, Fedor/Sylvia or either one of the Cain/Bigfoot fights?
