Hunting Season?

Starts tomorrow Sunday for me, I am getting up 3 in the morning to go out and bag me a roedeer buck, just stalk hunting until September when we can release the dogs and only males are allowed

And in preparation for the fall I passed a Bear shooting exam

hung over and I was the only one who managed all of it on my first try

80 and 40 meters, 40 seconds 4 shoots within the circle, 20 meters 2 shots in the head under 4 seconds, and I also did a couple of series on a running bear sideways and coming against you, no problem there either

this is a test that bear hunters have to pass each year and people were redoing it over and over again, quite scary that those guys are out hunting bear

Man what a difference with handloaded ammo, or maybe it was a placebo effect

I imagine it's a little different when It's a real bear running right at you.

But congrats on passing the exam, especially on the first try. I'm nowhere near that proficient but I hope to be one day. If you get one this year, post the pic and keep the skull!

Yeah I would sure like a semi-auto rifle if it gets gnarly

Hey, What's the size of the circle, and what are you shooting it with?

Out of curiousity...

it is the "kill-area"(there is probably a better name for it in English) on the bear

we shot the one straight from the side for the first two stations

the third was like the diameter of a beer can, right above the eyes, but you weren't required to hit it ( I only hit the first the second he got in his nose)

bolt action rifle 6,5x55

and I got up early as hell for nothing

the buck has eluded me 4 times now, he has got the senses of Superman
